I have collected some common problems which users getting during their Jailbreak/Unlock process of iPhone 2G or Jailbreak Process of iPhone 3G. Read the post if you have a unique problem which is not covered in this page post a comment below and we’ll try our best to solve your problem.

Dona Asks : I made what u said, and now it is stuck to the “downlaoding jailbreak data..” screen with that disk and a green arrow toward it. What should i do? :S

Solution : I got the same problem during my process here is how i get the Rid, First of all forcely restart your iPhone by hold both power button and home button of your iPhone for 15-25 sec. Now try again by changing your USB cord and port also it’ll be great if you try RedSn0w in Windows XP.

Travis Asks : I am jailbreaking and unlocking an iphone, with unlocked firmware 2.2.2, from a Windows XP. After updating to 3.0, I went through the process, but it is stuck on the last step…the iphone now only displays and arrow to a harddrive and says “dowmloading Jailbreak Data…” i followed all the steps…whats happening?!

Solution : First of all force quit your iPhone by pressing and holding the power and home button together for 15-25 seconds. This will restarts your iPhone. Now follow the same steps again and take care of following.

Use another computer and prefer to use Windows XP

Try changing USB cable.

Sam Asks : When I am trying to unlock my iphone 2g 3.0 firmware it wont even let me get past the first step? it says unable to recognize?

Solution : This problem is due to incompatible firmware, bad download. Re download the file from links given below. And make sure While saving the file keep confirm it is saved as the name iPhone1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw not the iPhone1,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.zip

Hamid Asks : I have 2g phone with 1.1.4 software. Can I update directly to 3.0 using redsnow or will I have to update to 2.2.1 first? Can the sim card be left inside while unlocking?

Solution : There is no such restriction regarding Sim Card, in my case i used to unlock while SIM is in but if you are facing any problem then you can try this trick.

Aaroon Asks : Hey, i just followed all the steps and my phone rebooted, but now all i get is an iTunes screen with the USB cord on it. Am i missing something.

Solution : iTunes with USB screen indicates that you are in Recovery Mode not in DFU mode for more information regarding Recovery and DFU mode read this post What is Difference Between Recovery Mode and DFU Mode. Since you are in Recovery mode you can get out by pressing and hold both power button and home button of your iPhone for 15-25 sec. Or you can restore to 3.0 again and follow the unlocking guide again.
