iDongle : Solution for iPhone 3GS 3.1.2 Untethered Jailbreak

Renaud has posted a video and some information on his blog My Boyfriend is a geek regarding a possible solution for iPhone 3GS 3.1.2 untethered jailbreak. As you know Apple introduced iBoot 359.3.2 with iPhone 3GS manufactured after week 42 to fix a security vulnerability that prevents the 24kpwn exploit. Currently, all iPhone owners 3GS with new iBoot are able to make only the Tethered Jailbreak. If you are confused with Tethered and Untethered jailbreak check the following.

Tethered Jailbreak : If you shut down a jailbroken iPhone 3GS, or if it runs out of power, you can only turn it back on by plugging it into a computer.
Untethered Jailbreak : If you shut down a jailbroken iPhone 3GS, or if it runs out of power you can switch it on back with power button.

iDongle is a possible solution for untethered jailbreak, operation is very simple you need to carry a little thumb sized dongle with you so in case you need to reboot your iDevice —>

Power-on your jailbreaked device

On iTunes logo, plug iDongle

Wait for leds to end flashing

Unplug iDongle or wait for boot

The first iPad Commercial Video Released at Oscar

Steve Jobs released the commercial video for the iPad, as part of the Academy Awards this video broadcast is the first commercial from Apple for the iPad, which is also seen on apple.com to. The advertisement was shown at the Oscar night and the song is “There Goes My Love” from the album Man Up The Blue Van.

As Apple confirmed last week, iPad will be available in Wi-Fi models on April 3 in the US for a suggested retail price of $499 for 16GB, $599 for 32GB, $699 for 64GB. The Wi-Fi + 3G models will be available in late April for a suggested retail price of $629 for 16GB, $729 for 32GB and $829 for 64GB.

iPad Ships April 3 and Preorder Starts From March 12

Apple announced that iPad WiFi model will be available in the US stores on April 3, Saturday. Wi-Fi + 3G models are scheduled late April. In addition, all models of iPad will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK in late April. iPad will be available in Wi-Fi models on April 3 in the US for a suggested retail price of $499 for 16GB, $599 for 32GB, $699 for 64GB. The Wi-Fi + 3G models will be available in late April for a suggested retail price of $629 for 16GB, $729 for 32GB and $829 for 64GB.

US customers can pre-order both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G models from Apple’s online store on March 12th. So if you want to get your hands early reserve, a Wi-Fi model on 12th and be eligible to pick up on Saturday, April 3, at an Apple retail store. [VIA]

Destructor95 our Italian friend is working on a new application for Windows that assist you to choose appropriate guide and tools to jailbreak/unlock your iPhone and iPod Touch. We got the beta version to test and we are pretty impressed by the hard work of Destructor. ToolJail is mini Wikipedia for iPhone/iPod jailbreak. It contains all necessary how to guides regarding jailbreak, unlock, check iBoot, check the MC model, the ECID etc.

The operation of ToolJail is very simple, once we started the program click on the Jailbreak Tutorial button from right sidebar, and a new Window with various pull-down menu will appear on your screen

Select the device type i.e. iPhone 2G/3G/3GS etc.
Select the firmware version installed on your iPhone / iPod
Select your iBoot (only for iPhone 3GS) If you don’t know about your iBoot click on How can i know it button highlighted just under the option.
Confirm If you have saved ECID through Cydia (only for iPhone 3GS)
Select your computer operating system i.e. Mac/Windows
iPod Touch 2G should confirm your Model MB or MC

Once you have completed all fields, simply click on “Search” button and a small window will appear in green “You can do the Jailbreak” or red “You can’t do the Jailbreak.” If you are eligible for jailbreak you’ll be prompt to click on “Start Guide” and a window will open immediately with step by step guide specific to your situation, allowing you to run the Jailbreak without error.

Next Section is DFU mode and Recovery mode, here you can learn about how to put your iPhone in DFU mode and recovery mode with real time instructions.

iPad Sale Starts on Friday March 26th?

According to information from examiner, Apple is all set to train store employees with real iPad units on March 10 followed by TV commercials to air starting March 15 (focusing on iBooks). The exact start of sales had not yet been finalized, but Friday the 26th March would be a potential candidate matching date – even the iPhone each came on a Friday in the trade. As previously planned internationally – Apple currently lists ‘late March’ for the WiFi model and ‘April/May’ for the 3G model with UMTS and GPS module.

Apple hasn’t confirmed about the actual sale date and procedure, and traditionally exact date will be announced no more than 1 week before sale date. Most probably “pre-orders” will be online only and will start no sooner than the day the release date is announced.

Push Doctor : Free Push Fix for hacktivated iPhone’s

Following are the instructions on how to fix push notifications on your jailbroken iPhone.

Step One : Press to launch Cydia from your SpringBoard.
Step Two : Press to select the Manage tab at the bottom of the screen.
Step Three : Press the large Sources button.
Step Four : Press the Edit button at the top right of the screen.
Step Five : Press the Add button at the top left of the screen.
Step Six : Enter “ http://www.cmdshft.ipwn.me/apt/ ” as the new source address and tap the Add Source button.
Step Seven : Once the source has been successfully added press the large Return to Cydia button.
Step Eight : Press the Done button to exit Edit mode.
Step Nine : Press to select the newly added NERV repository.
Step Ten : Press to choose Push Doctor from the list of Packages
Step Eleven : Press the Install button at the top right of the screen.
Step Twelve : Then press the Confirm button to beginning installation
Note : Once rebooted verify that YouTube works. If not try reinstalling the patch. You may also need to remove then reinstall all your applications which use Push Notifications before they will work.

Update via CmdShft : If you’re having an issue with installing Push Doctor and you cannot get push working, it’s because the server it’s getting your unique cert from is actually out of certs. The demand is very high apparently, and @anethema is now generating 1 unique cert per minute to put on the server. Try every few hours, eventually it will work. Any errors just means the same that it cannot find a unique cert. Just "reinstall" the package later or the next day.

Rumor : Mac mini With HDMI Port

Apple Insider reports an unconfirmed rumor of next gen Mac Mini with HDMI out port. Anonymous sources of AI claimed Apple currently has prototype Mac minis with HDMI built in, replacing the current model’s mini-DVI port. The new Mac mini is said to otherwise look identical to current models. Supposedly Apple is also preparing a separate mini-Display Port to HDMI adapter, which should be in a position to both the audio and video signal transfer (currently the mini-Display Port limited to video). Last time Mac mini was updated in October’09 and since has become available in a configuration with a second hard drive instead of optical drive for server purposes and that was the only major upgrade.

Apple was also allegedly spotted Mac mini Nivdia prototypes with the MCP89 chipset, worth to mention that , Intel’s ongoing licensing dispute with Nvidia will PC makers from using the MCP89 alongside Nehalem-based Core i3, i5 and i7 processors. If those reports were true, Apple may continue to rely on existing Core 2 Duo (pre-Nehalem) processors as part of its upcoming Mac mini revision.

Apple iPad A4 in the SoC relies on a Cortex-A8

Ars Technia reports Apple iPad A4 chip is based on ARM Cortex-A8 architecture, though early rumors was Apple adopted the latest Cortex A9 multi-core design. For exact specifications, Apple has not commented. According to multiple sources of Ars Technia Apple uses A4 (besides the PowerVX SGX GPU) back to a single-core Cortex-A8, as currently the case (with a lower clock speed) in the iPhone 3GS, and the third-generation iPod touch is used.

According to Jon Stokes at Ars Technia “ As I watched the videos and read the reports of the iPad in action at the launch event, I was thoroughly convinced that the device was built on the out-of-order Cortex A9, possibly even a dual-core version. But it turns out that the the A4 is a 1GHz custom SoC with a single Cortex A8 core and a PowerVR SGX GPU. The fact that A4 uses a single A8 core hasn’t been made public, but I’ve heard from multiple sources who are certain for different reasons that this is indeed the case. (I wish I could be more specific, but I can’t.)”
