With the launch of iPad 3G, iPhone DEV team is busy in exploring new opportunities with iPad 3G . Dev-Team Member “MuscleNerd ‘ reports, it is possible to send off short messages with the UMTS version of the iPad. Needless to mention the device does not comes with native SMS application, with a little hackery with terminal installed and raw AT commands allows, the simple sending of text messages. Musclenerd also posted a YouTube video to demonstrate.

Last week we posted a guide to install Android on iPhone 2G [Check here], and we told you that iPhone 3G project is in progress. Today Planetbeing posted a new video from which you can see Andriod on iPhone with the full support multitouch. Only obstacle now remains is to solve the problem of baseband since the 3G network is still not recognized, or rather, you can not make calls and even have a fast 3G data connection. iPhone Android project is built on the iBoot project leading by PlanetBeing and followed by CPICH, harmn1, posixninja, jean, marcan and saurik.

Snow Leopard 10.6.2 : Atom Support Breaks

Apple today released Mac OS X 10.6.2 update to address various security, stability and compatibility issues. Netbook Hackint0sh users are advised to stay away from this update, it’s confirmed Snow Leopard 10.6.2 update breaks the Atom support in hackintosh. Wait for the modded kernel and detailed guide. The vanilla hackintoshers are all free from any workaround for updating there rig, though it’s highly suggested to backup your /Extra (just in case), you may need to install Audio/Video/Lan drivers after the reboot.

Hackint0sh User : Take a note of following [VIA]

Remove SleepEnabler.kext because old sleepenabler + new kernel = panic
Use any disabler for AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext, for example – NullCPUPM.kext, install it to Extra mkext and reboot, of course if you made AppleIntelCPUPM to speedstep your cpu, you can skip this step.

Apple is Going Hard on iPhone Jailbreaking

It seems Apple is going hard and hard on Jailbreak community. Last month Apple updated iBoot for new iPhone new version to fix a security vulnerability that prevents the exploit 24kpwn More details here and here. Since the 24kpwn is fixed the only way to jailbreak new purchased iPhone is a Tethered jailbreak, but it is quite inconvenient as you have to re-run the jailbreak every time you restart the phone. Recently Apple invited applications for iPhone OS Platform Security Manager you can check here.

The Core OS group is looking for a talented and inspired manager to lead a team focused on the platform security of iPhone OS. The team is responsible for secure booting and installation of the OS, partitioning and hardening of security domains within the OS, cryptographic services, and risk analysis of security threats. The team is made up of a variety of security experts with backgrounds in system security and reverse engineering.

Seems Apple is looking to increase security while booting (power on) and installation of the OS (the original). Also there is talk of partition, an encryption service (which should prevent the installation of custom firmware) and much more. Update Hackintosh (OSX86) from 10.5.7 to 10.5.8

Updating the Hack-i-ntosh or OSX86 install is a very panic process for newbies, so we advise you to make the backup of your system before hitting the update process. If this is the first time you are updating your hackintosh then read this guide twice before getting started. This guide is for Non vanila or hacked kernel & INTEL based system only. Vanilla users just update and restart. You can also use this guide for updating 10.5.X to 10.5.8 with Combo Update remember you must have patched your DSDT. If you are upgrading from 10.5.7 then download Delta Update. Updating Process is same as usual like you updated from previous one. You can download Delta update (274MB) and Combo update (759MB). Before starting the process download & install osx86tools from PCWIZ.

First of All follow this guide: How to Back up & Restore Your Kexts Before OSX86 Upgrades.

First Phase :

Install Disabler.kext Download Here
Install this dsmos.kext Download Here ( a bit updated to be present in mkext)
Now reboot your system
Create backup of Extensions folder. If anything goes wrong we can restore:

sudo cp -rf /System/Library/Extensions /System/Library/Extensions_old

Now start the update and wait for Update was successful need to reboot screen !
Don’t restart here and follow the phase 2.

Second Phase :

Open osx86tools >>> Check repair permissions >>> Set kext permissions >>> Clear extensions cache >>> Restart.

Boot using -v to see if any errors.

These are instructions on how to software unlock the iPhone 3GS with OS 3.0 for use with any GSM cell phone carrier. Before you can follow these instructions you must have a jailbroken iPhone if you haven’t jailbreaked your iPhone 3G then follow our Guide Guide to Jailbreak your iPhone 3GS with Purplera1n For unlocking your iPhone UltraSn0w, a soft unlock payload from iPhone Dev Team is using. UltraSn0w is a small daemon that is launched on boot. It injects the payload at boot and also whenever there is a baseband reset. You won’t notice anything about it other than that your third-party sim now works. Once you have a Jailbreaked iPhone then you can use these easy steps to Unlock your iPhone.

Before getting started make sure your iPhone is jailbreaked with PurpleRa1n and Cydia is installed on your iPhone. The procedure and repo of Ultrasn0w is same as iPhone 3G.

Disclaimer : I am not responsible for any damage during the jailbreak and unlock process. Planetbeing already demonstrated iPhone 3GS Unlock With Ultrasn0w Successful. Also Purplera1n is in beta form and there are some bugs. Step Five : Press the Add button at the top left of the screen.

Step Six : Enter http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com/ as the source url and press the Add Source button.

Step Seven : Once the source has been added press the large Return to Cydia button.

Step Eight : Press the Done button at the top right of the screen.

Step Nine : Press to select http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com/ from the list of user entered sources.

Step Ten : Press to select ultrasn0w from the list of packages.

Step Eleven : Press the Install button at the top right of the screen.

Step Twelve : Press the Confirm button at the top right of the screen.

Step Thirteen : After installation completes successfully press the large Return to Cydia button.

Step Fourteen : Now press the Home button then power off and power on the iPhone. You do this by holding down the power button for 3 seconds then moving the power slider that appears to the right. Press the power button again to turn on the phone.

Step Fifteen : You should now be able to insert the SIM of your choice!

I don’t know how i missed to introduce you with iDeneb Combo Upgrade kit 10.5.7 If you have download delta update already you can follow our guide on safe update here. iHackintosh team released iDeneb Combo Upgrade kit 10.5.7 just like Kalyway 10.5.3 package. Since it is a combo package so you can update from any of your 10.5.X hackintosh to 10.5.7 with a single package. This kit also supports other OSx86 distro like Kalyway, Leo4All, iATKOS, iPC. Now i m reinstalling iPC 10.5.6 again and i’ll upgrade again to 10.5.7 and share my experience in the same post here. You can download this kit from ihackintosh.org or do a simple search on Demonoid or BTjunkie.
This is iDeneb Combo Upgrade KIT 10.5.7 ( Intel/AMD, SSE2/SSE3 ), developed by Layne, graphic by Cri900 and contains:

Download AppleDecrypt.kext Click HERE.
Download IntelCPUPMDisabler.kext Click HERE.
Edit : AppleIntelCPUPM Disabler.kexts will be in /Extra

Open the terminal & perform following command’s without quotes.

”sudo –s”

*type password*

”while sleep 1;”

”do rm –rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext;done”

Open 10.5.7 Update Installer.

Run update BUT DO NOT RESTART.

Go back to your terminal and press Control C to end the script.

In terminal type:

”nano /System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/1”

Replace the line Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext with dsmos.kext if any exists.

Don’t restart.

Second Phase :

Open osx86tools >>> Check repair permissions >>> Set kext permissions >>> Clear extensions cache >>> Restart.

Boot using -v to see if any errors.
