Recently Apple invited applications for iPhone OS Platform Security Manager you can check here.

The Core OS group is looking for a talented and inspired manager to lead a team focused on the platform security of iPhone OS. The team is responsible for secure booting and installation of the OS, partitioning and hardening of security domains within the OS, cryptographic services, and risk analysis of security threats. The team is made up of a variety of security experts with backgrounds in system security and reverse engineering.

Seems Apple is looking to increase security while booting (power on) and installation of the OS (the original). Also there is talk of partition, an encryption service (which should prevent the installation of custom firmware) and much more. So what do you think about this post your views in the comments below.

So we needn’t to worry until we have a great community driven by iPhone Dev and Geohot.

If you don’t know it’s not a new method, David Elliot released BOOT-132 sometime around June 2008 which allows you to boot retail DVDs, Use Mac OS X Retail DVD on hackintoshes. The principle behind Rebel EFI is as same as Boot 132 “ Rebel EFI preloads an environment on the system from which OS X can boot and operate. The boot loader stores the necessary files (kext files) in a .img collection or simply a folder. The luxury of this new installation method includes the ability to boot and install from a retail Leopard DVD and update straight from Apple.”

Rebel EFI will cost you 50$ but if you are a little adventurous then you can do it at your own and free of cost. We have guides to install OS X on your PC.

This is how it’s done, you burn a Rebel EFI ISO (which has the bootloader on it) to a CD. As computer boots up select, Boot Options or Boot Menu Key. When prompted, Eject the CD and it will ask for the Snow Leopard DVD, swap the BOOT CD with the Snow LEO Retail DVD and Snow Leo starts to load. The procedure isn’t simple as it looks you need to take care of some basic rules which are described below.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

< Prepare your System for Rebel EFI >

2). Essential BIOS Settings :

If when booting OS X your computer hangs at a screen with the Apple logo and a "no smoking" sign, you may have an issue with a BIOS Setting. To rectify this, follow these procedures

Step 2. Once Rebel EFI CD loads press enter to run the CD, When prompted, Eject the CD and it will ask for the Snow Leopard DVD. Now replace the Rebel EFI CD with Snow Leopard Retail DVD.

Step 4. Select Main Language, Click Continue, if you want to continue with the installation of Snow Leopard. Select the disk that you want to install Snow Leopard on.

Step 6. Now your disk will be checked for consistency than installation begins. It will take 30-45 minute’s as your hardware.

Step 7. When Installation completes restart the computer. As the computer starts up, insert and boot from the Rebel EFI CD.
Ingredients :

MotherBoard : Gigabyte EX58-UD3R

Processor : Intel Core i7 920

HDD : Western Digital SATA 640GB

Graphics : GeForce 9500GT 512 MB

Memory : 3 GB

OSX86 Distro : iAtkos V7

1. Setting bios:
only 2 bios just a revamped configuration
- Onboard SATA / RAID Device set to Enable
- Onboard SATA / RAID Ctrl set to AHCI

2. IAtkos Install v7
- Booting from the DVD, and then press F8, type the boot flag “-v busratio = 20″ (without the quotes), see the JMicron screen ranks him blah blah, thats why can not use DVD retail booted. except to make his own boot CD with drivers for JMicron add it. more …
- After entering the installation menu we make a partition first. because temen I want to dual boot with XP so I made 4 partition for XP partition 1 to 2 for 2 partitions iAtkos and the rest is used for data, and select the partition to install iatkos and Erase to format the Mac OS (Journaled), when all was settled out from the Disk Utility and click Customize and select the following settings:

Main iAtkos System v7

Chameleon v2

Extra Directory

DSDT

DSMOS

APIC Driver

Disabler

OHR

Remove TyMCE

AHCI

Intel SATA / IDE

JMicron SATA / IDE

Voodoo HDA Driver

Realtek R1000

Post Install

Click Done and continue. Wait until the installation is complete and reboot.
* remember to boot the first time we have to type the boot flag “busratio = 20″ if you will not get the Kernel panic. Everything went perfectly.

For GeForce 9500 GT drivers please use the drivers here. though detected as Unknown Nvidia but CI / QE / OpenGL it to be perfect (sorry again kext ga edit2 his mood).

Before you can follow these instructions you must have a jailbroken iPhone if you haven’t jailbreaked your iPhone 3G then follow our Guide Guide to Jailbreak your iPhone 3GS with Purplera1n For unlocking your iPhone UltraSn0w, a soft unlock payload from iPhone Dev Team is using. UltraSn0w is a small daemon that is launched on boot. It injects the payload at boot and also whenever there is a baseband reset. You won’t notice anything about it other than that your third-party sim now works. Once you have a Jailbreaked iPhone then you can use these easy steps to Unlock your iPhone.

Before getting started make sure your iPhone is jailbreaked with PurpleRa1n and Cydia is installed on your iPhone. The procedure and repo of Ultrasn0w is same as iPhone 3G.

Disclaimer : I am not responsible for any damage during the jailbreak and unlock process. Planetbeing already demonstrated iPhone 3GS Unlock With Ultrasn0w Successful. Also Purplera1n is in beta form and there are some bugs. T mobile users make sure to turn off 3G in settings before applying Ultrasn0w. 80% results are positive but most of them complaints about no WiFi. So if you prefer unlock over WiFi only then use this guide.
