Here we collected a comprehensive list of some kext  with their brief description. You can experiment your installation with following kext according to your hardware. • AHCIPortinjector: Add the name of the chipset (ICH9, ICH9R, etc.) when the AHCI controller is used.

• Disable: Disables the only kext AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext responsible “mouse lag” in

• fakesmc: emulation of the chip smc. replaces Appledecrypt and dsmos.
• HDAEnabler: Inject the input / output audio information system is used when a Legacy plist “audio or
  AppleHDA changed.
• Intel82566MM: Driver for Intel 82566MM controller
• IOACHIBlockStorageInjector: Sets the orange icons problem when using AHCI Controller
• JMicronATA: Allows the JMicron chip is to function with more than 4GB of ram.
• LegacyJMB36xSATA: Allows the SATA controller JMB36X display info in System Profiler.
• NullCPUPowerManagement: neutralizes the kext AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext
• NVinject: Injector for Nvidia cards (64bit only)
• OpenHaltRestart: re-active termination and reboot on many motherboards
• PlatformUUID: Sets the error “UUID Error 35″ by injecting a generic UUID to boot.
• RealtekR1000: active sharing hello and AFP for the Realtek network controller
• SKGE: adds functionality to certain network controllers Marvell
• SleepEnabler: re-active the day when AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext is neutralized (see
  NullCPUPowerManagement)
• UUID: Sets the error “UUID Error 35″ by injecting a generic UUID to boot.
• VoodooHDA + prefpane: universal sound driver
• VoodooPS2Controller + prefpane: Enables support for peripheral PS

Chameleon team released the beta version of Chameleon 2.0 The beta version has some issues with XP otherwise it’s a fine release. After a long wait, finally the GUI bootloader is here. Yes Chameleon 2.0 is out in the wild. It is a RC1 release and available in binaries. The official announcement is as follows “ Right before 1st of April we’re gladly introducing the Release Candidate 1 version of Chameleon 2.0 for public download. Now supporting GUI booting, and all other features we mentioned in the previous articles. “ Chameleon 2.0 supports many new features like “ You can select from many partitions across multiple disks. Even the foreign OS types are detected properly on GPT formatted disks as well. ” , “ You can choose from the typical boot options available for native HFS partitions. “ , “ Optionally you can replace the grey apple logo with a custom transparent image. “

Now we have a serious alternative for E-fix as TERC said  Working great for me (EP45-UD3P) with RAID 10. Great work! I’m glad I left EFI-X in the dust… I’ll be selling it to go towards donations for this project. The Chameleon team has been infinitely more helpful and considerate than the “help” over on EFI-X’s “support” forum. 

  Features of Chameleon 2.0 : 

     – Device Property Injection via device-properties string in com.apple.Boot.plist

    - Hybrid boot0+boot1h loaders for both MBR and GPT partitioned disks.

    - Automatic FSB detection code even for recent AMD CPUs.

    - Apple Software RAID support.

    - Stage2 loader (boot) can be placed as a regular file in the boot

    - Partition’s root folder. It has precedence over the embedded startupfile.

PC EFI V9 is new bootloader from Netkas with few nice features, it’s now based on Chameleon codebase.This one click installer can be used for installing PC EFI V9 from Netkas for future updates.PC EFI V9 is specially designed for 10.5.6 & above and it also supports DSDT patching.

so, it supports all what Chameleon supports ( including /Extra Feature’s)

and it has few new patches applied:

1) dsdt overwrite patch from mackerintel

2) resume from hibernate(aka deep sleep) support from me (-nowake boot option to bypass resume, if u dont want it on current boot)

3) 64-bit kernel loading support from me  ( -x64 boot option to tell it to boot 64-bit kernel (only snow leo kernel has 64-bit part)

4) it supports new Extension.mkext location as in new snow leo Now few words about hibernate, to activate  it u can use e.g. this widget – deepsleep.free.fr Bootloader will check /var/vm/sleepimage, and if it has proper signature, it will try to resume system

Now about problems, some systems fails to go to deepsleep state(e.g. gigabyte, asus), it’s caused by RTC bug in dsdt

iPC OSx86 Universal 10.5.6 ISO Released for Intel AMD SSE2 SSE3.PCWIZ comes with his yet another master creation. The torrent was uploaded but now removed from the Demonoid.com . According to Hara Taiki Uploader & Friend of PCWIZ the older torrent was removed because he was the only seeder “ I am the only seeder at the moment. I deleted the other torrent to encourage people to download the new one. ” But now the latest torrent was also deleted.Might take a bit to show up on the search engine. If you can’t find it on the Green Demon, try searching under unseeded. Once it’s seeded it will show up in the normal part of the search. The final release Sized @ 4.30 GB with PPF 5 patched the ISO is ready to use.Currently live DVD option is not supported due to some bugs but promised to fixed very soon
