All Things Digital published an exclusive report regarding Apple iPad 2 launch event. According to exclusive information from All Things Digital next Wednesday, March 2 is the date chosen by Apple to launch the new iPad 2.The article does not mention anything more, but it is understood that Apple will soon begin sending invitations to the press for event. Logically, the site will be the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and it still remains unknown whether Steve Jobs is all fine to host the event or not.

Update 1 : Yes, it’s confirmed Cupertino giants just started sending official invites to media houses, Loopinsights were the first who reported that the event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts at 10:00 am. This is the same venue Apple has used to introduce a number of products in recent years.

After analyzing data collected from Taiwanese components suppliers, Digitimes concluded as follows: The first installment of new iPad will be ready for dispatch in the next 100 days. Software for the next iPad is still undergoing testing, which does not correspond to the original plans for Apple. Because of this delay, supply the updated model until early March will be from 400 to 600 thousand units.

Apple UK started pre-order all iPad models from their online store from Monday 10th May. Vodafone, O2 and Orange have all signed up to supply the iPad to customers in the UK from next month. UK operators iPad 3G plans looks more flexible than the AT&T data plan. You can choose data plans on daily / weekly / monthly basis. Orange and O2 UK both offers daily and weekly basis data plans while Vodafone UK offers only monthly data plans. iPad a Shrine??

ATTENTION: This article have Nothing to do with the Scientology group ads above!

In just a period of one month, iPad has been sold out and seems to be the one thing “everyone” wants. It says a lot about this little screen as if were holy! Is that so? That it has become a symbol for happiness and success type as several iPhone holders have expressed, but it is sacred and one of our time´s Shrine to “worship” in a moment when we need comfort?

Well who knows, it is only the owner himself who can answer what it stands for her / him. But one is safe. It has a place and is functioning to fill in our modern era.

For those initiated in the cyber world infinite dimension as an iPad opportunity to reach even further out in the Internet universe. In time, and dates, you can easily get out his little companion, and open up communication much further and faster than any other medium. Learning know other people. Look into things you do not know if there were, etc.

But is it the sanctuary of our time? For better or worse it is for so many, more than you can imagine, I believe. iDevices have become a sacred cow. Not just for Apple (which for them probably also is the golden egg), but for anyone who recognizes themselves in this article. It is something to care for, nurture and take care of. Saurik released an update for Winterboard, to make WB compatible with iPad. Winterboard allows you to customize your iPad. With Winterboard you can change icons, status bar graphics (WiFi, 3G etc.), iPad dock graphics, themes, sounds on your iPad. If you are jailbroken, you can customize your iPad with thousands of already available winterboard themes. We can expect some HD themes with in a week or soon. Note : Most of the stock features are working and some existing themes are reported working fine, but you may encounter weird errors with some of the themes / mods. Saurik is still working to fix random issues, so expect an update very soon.

When you jailbreak, the filesystem’s password is set to the common password “alpine” As people usually don’t bother changing this password after performing a jailbreak, it’s really easy for hackers to get access to any jailbroken iPad on a public network. Changing the password is quick and easy — after the jump is a tutorial showing how to change the SSH password.

Note : Mobile terminal isn’t compatible at the moment, for the time being you can turn off Turn of SSH when not required. Install SBSettings from Cydia so you can turn it off or on when you really required this. Once Mobile Terminal gets updated with iPad support you can change your password with the following instructions.

Change the Root Password of iPad : it’s the most easiest way all you need is to install Mobile Terminal and perform the following commands.

• su root                                                 >> login to root with all access <<
• alpine                                                  >>  it’s your default password <<
• passwd                                              >> To change your default password <<

Now, your SSH password will be changed and your device will be protected against any future hacks that use SSH to access your device

By now you all know that the iPad 3G + WiFi model require a micro SIM, and latest leaks from Gizmodo also suggests Apple may promote iPhone 4G/HD with a Micro SIM too. The advantages of the Micro SIM are in size. In fact measures only 12mm x 15mm against 15mm x 25mm Mini SIM. Apple has decided to adopt this new card type to save as much space as possible and operators are already adapting to provide this type of SIM.

In my country we don’t have any provider who supply Micro Sim cards at the moment, so i decided to move a step further and cut down Mini Sim to Micro Sim. It’s really easy as 1 2 3

Let us clear the confusions of Sim, Mini Sim and Micro Sim. Sim cards we are using currently are called Mini Sim or second generation of Sim and Sim card we are talking about is micro SIM or third generation Sim. First generation Sim card was as big as credit cards that’s why second generation Sim are called Mini Sim.

Note / Warning :

1. Do it at your own risk and carefully because the chip is very delicate. It will be a bit  harder to use the SIM so file the sim very delicately and try again and again.

2. The SIM you are using may differ in shape of the circuit from that used by us. Don’t worry about that and mind the circuitry gap.

3. Try with a useless SIM first.

Requirements :

A Mini SIM, Marker pen, Scale, Sharp cutter, File tool (Nail File) and some patience.

Instructions

1. The first step is to get a card that allows access to the UMTS network.
2. With a ruler / scale take measures to cut the SIM and mark with a pen.  (12mm x 15mm)
3. Mark the cutting line with a cutter and then bend off from same line, the plastic SIM is soft enough that it can be cut with scissors.
4. Proceed to sharpen the edges of your new micro-SIM with File tool (Nail File). That’s it.

George Hotz the Genius geek, active in the field of mobile devices ever since the first Apple iPhone EDGE, has struck again. GeoHot published a new photo on his blog in which we observe that it has installed Cydia on iPad, through blackra1n! The movement of a Jailbreak tool for iPad is now closer than ever as the GeoHot known for his impatience.

Second shot shows the iPad while starting mode “verbose”, or announcing to screen all ongoing proceedings to start.

Both geohot and the DEV team have a working jailbreak for iPad 3.2 and iPhone OS 3.1.3 in the closet, but wait to publish the next iPhone update and iPad 3G.

So you got your iPad and waiting for a Jailbreak or you got your iPad and may jailbreak in future, in both cases grab your iPad 3.2 ECID SHSH’s on file and set your jailbreak future safe. iPhone 3GS jailbreakers are more familiar with ECID, SHSH terms. For those who are new in the scene, ECID is a unique chip ID and will be different for every iDevice. When iTunes starts the restore process, they contact Apple servers to generate signatures just for your device. It’s important you get these signatures for your iPad before a new version of the software comes out.

Now question is Why i need ECID SHSH Dump ? Apple added a new piece of security called ECID, The nature of iPad / iPhone 3GS / iPod Touch 3G hardware allows Apple to stop IPSWs from being usable unless you’ve already gotten the signed chunks they send to you based on your ECID (a unique chip ID). Actually Apple applies ECID so the iPhone will refuse to accept the ipsw file while downgrading because of a bad signature. It will treat it as a custom ipsw without having the apple server sign the ipsw specifically for your phone id before flashing.

In easy words, iPad released with OS 3.2 and a jailbreak for iPad will be available very soon. Apple will push a new update 3.2.1 or something like that with a fix for previous jailbreak, same time Apple will stop signing 3.2 firmware from their server. Once Apple stop signing 3.2 neither you can downgrade from 3.2.1 to 3.2 nor you can restore your iPad 3.2 back to OS 3.2 unless you saved your SHSH Dump. We’ll publish detailed guides as soon as Apple release a new firmware so stay tuned with us. Anyway, you can grab your ECID SHSH on file even when you are not jailbroken, and here is how to do it. Of course this will only be possible for the firmware version Apple still signs, which is (right now) 3.2

NOTE: it is very important to keep doing this for every firmware version that comes out after these!!

Windows:

1. Get your ECID following this instructions: How to Grab iPad ECID on Windows and Mac

2. You need to have your iPad in restore mode, which is the connect to iTunes screen.

3. Get firmware umbrella thefirmwareumbrella

4. Open umbrella.exe, type your ECID, Select iPad 3.2 in Device version and select Apple in SHSH repo and hit the submit button (this will request the shsh signature from APPLE and save it to your PC)

5. It will save your shsh copy in the same directory where the umbrella.exe file is, copy it and rejoice, for you have your own 64kb gold with you.

Mac:

1. Get your ECID following this instructions: How to Grab iPad ECID on Windows and Mac

2. Get firmware umbrella  thefirmwareumbrella, move the Umbrella app OUT of the .dmg file preferably onto your desktop.

3. Open umbrella.app, type your ECID, Select iPad 3.2 in Device version and select Apple in SHSH repo and hit the submit button (this will request the shsh signature from APPLE and save it to your Mac)

4. It will save your shsh copy in the same directory where the umbrella.app file is, copy it and rejoice, for you have your own 64kb gold with you.
