Last week Apple released iOS 4.3.3 in response to controversial locationgate issue, but in the rush of release Apple skipped to fix i0nic’s untethered jailbreak exploit. Good news is that iPhone Dev team also released updated version of Redsn0w to include the support of iOS 4.3.3 jailbreak. The 4.3.3 untether works on all devices that actually support 4.3.3 except for the iPad2. following is the list of supported models.

• iPhone3GS
• iPhone4 (GSM)
• iPod touch 3G
• iPod touch 4G
• iPad1
• AppleTV2G (v4.3 8F202)

iPhone Dev team also updated ultrasn0w, making it compatible with iOS 4.3.3 Unfortunately, as the previous one, latest release does not introduce changes in the list of unlockable baseband. Following are the links of complete how to guides with all required download links.

Earlier today we reported that cupertino giants released iOS 4.3.2 in answer to infamous issues with FaceTime calls and issues with iPad WiFi + 3G connectivity. We also advised to Gevey SIM / Rebel SIM / Ultrasn0w  unlock and jail breakers to stay away from the iOS 4.3.2, until iPhone Dev team release any tool but some of you may updated to iOS 4.3.2

Following are the instructions to downgrade your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad running on iOS 4.3.2 to a lower firmware version i.e. iOS 4.3.1, 4.3, 4.2.1 or 4.2,  just make sure that you have had saved your Cydia SHSH for the firmware you want to revert back

Download Required :

1. Latest version of iTunes (Download iTunes)
2. iOS Firmware for your iDevice (Download from Here)
3. TinyUmbrella (Download Tiny Umbrella)

Instructions:

1. First of all open TinyUmbrella and close immediately, this will modify your hosts file automatically.
2. Launch Tiny Umbrella again and connect your device.
3. Click the Start button TSS Server (iTunes will close automatically)
4. Open iTunes and click Restore + Windows Shift or Restore + Option key on Mac.
5. Select the firmware you want to downgrade i.e. iOS 4.3.1 or lower for iPhone 4 etc.
6. Restore process will take 10-15 minutes, do not close Tiny Umbrella.
7. If all went well, you can go to Tiny Umbrella and press Stop TSS Server.

After restore process if you encountered an error message like 1011, 1013 or 1015 just ignore them(Actually the firmware is already installed). To exit recovery mode simply press TinyUmbrella “kick device out of recovery mode” button. Wait until your device restarts, if you are still in recovery mode then put your iDevice in DFU mode and restore once again, following are the instructions to put your iDevice in DFU mode

• Connect your iDevice to your computer.
• Turn your iDevice off.
• Hold power and home together for 10 seconds (exactly).
• Release power but keep holding home until the computers beeps (observed on a PC) as a USB device is recognized.
• A few seconds later iTunes should detect your iDevice.
• If the Restore Logo is present on the screen, you are in Recovery Mode, not DFU, so follow the process once again.

Apple released iOS 4.3.1 with an hidden presence of multi-gesture touch, to do with 4 and 5 fingers to run their application without using the Start button. Multi-touch gestures provides the ability to exit an application and return to the home screen by pressing with four or five fingers. Also, if the slide to the left or right to switch between open applications and slide up to open multiple taskbar.

Gevey SIM is your next hope for iPhone 4 baseband unlock, The Gevey SIM functions as an interposer between the SIM card and the baseband hardware. Unlocking iPhone with Gevey SIM is easy as one, two, three. Simple install the Gevey SIM then call 112, once the call connects you hang up then toggle Airport mode on and off and that’s it.

Now darker side of the method, as we we mentioned earlier that unlocking procedure requires you to call 112, which is a legitimate emergency number and needless to mention that dialing the emergency number without any reason is punishable offense in some countries. Another glitch in this method, it could be rectified by a firmware update or carrier update.

SIM card holds many different types of information, but the part most involved with carrier lock is the IMSI number, which is a unique code that corresponds to your account in the mobile carrier’s database.
When the iPhone baseband is loaded into memory, it checks the MCC and MNC against its own network lock state stored in the seczone. If the combination is allowed, the cell radio is activated and vice versa.
The earliest iPhone baseband revisions only check IMSI twice following a restart, therefore it is very easy to send spoof information in order to bypass the check. Nevertheless, the baseband was soon updated to validate SIM more aggressively and the method soon became obsolete.

Apple released iOS 4.3 beta with a lots of new features and bug fixes over 4.2.1, but we still don’t have any fully compatible jailbreak at the moment. So if you upgraded to iOS 4.3, and now you want to downgrade back to iOS 4.2.1 or 4.1, follow the instructions posted below to downgrade iOS 4.3 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G and iPad first generation to iOS 4.2.1, 4.1 or lower. Make sure you have saved your Cydia SHSH for the firmware you want to revert back.

Note:

1. This process is only for those who saved their SHSH to Cydia Server already.
2. Read the whole process two-three times before starting the process.

How to Edit and Save Hosts file in Windows

• Open Notepad with Administrative privileges by clicking Start, All Programs,Accessories, and then right-click Notepad and select to open as Administrator.

• Now browse to (C:/Windows / System32 / drivers / etc) in Notepad and open the hosts file, and add the following entry to the bottom of the file.
  

  74.208.10.249    gs.apple.com               <————

Now you navigate to files menu and save the hosts file. By doing this you changed the communication server from Apple to Saurik’s Server, because your ECID is on that server. Now you can put your iPhone in DFU mode to restore back to to OS 4.0.1 or lower. Follow our previous guide to Downgrade iOS 4.2 to 4.1 for iPhone, iPad and iPod

How to Edit and Save Hosts file in Mac OS X

• Navigate to Finder, Click to select Go to Folder… from the Go menu and Enter /etc into the input field and click the Go button.
• Now look for hosts file, right click on hosts file and open with Text Edit, and add the following entry to the bottom of the file.

74.208.10.249   gs.apple.com <————

• Now save the file and click on Save As.
• Because Text Editor can’t save your system files, here comes the tricky part, in save as windows use the following settings, take a close look at the following image.

Uncheck the “ If no extension is provide, use .txt “ and then press the save button.

• A host file will be appear on your Desktop, just drag and drop to /etc and follow the on screen instructions.

By doing this you changed the communication server from Apple to Sauriks Server, because your ECID is on that server. Now you can put your iPhone in DFU mode to restore to any of the previous OS. Follow our previous guide to Downgrade iOS 4.2 to 4.1 for iPhone, iPad and iPod

Fail0verflow is the code name of the PS3 vulnerability found and revealed at 27th Chaos Communication Congress by hackers (bushing, marcan and sven). Fail0verflow is a way to overflow the bootup via replacing the NOR flash on startup. According to team “ PS3 totally failed in security, and the signing keys are there inside everyone’s PS3 Console ” Basically they found the PS3 private keys and this will allow anyone to sign executables and run them on any retail PS3.

Primary goal of the team is to have Linux running on all existing PS3 consoles, whatever their firmware versions.

• Update 1 : PSGroove brings more light on fail0verflow, according to (PSGroove) “ Approximately a half hour in, the team revealed their new PS3 secrets, the moment we all were waiting for. One of the major highlights here was, dongle-less jailbreaking by overflowing the bootup NOR flash, giving complete control over the system. The other major feat, was calculating the public private keys (due to botched security), giving users the ability to sign their own SELFs Following this, the team declared Sony’s security to be EPIC FAIL!
  The recent advent of these new exploits means current firmware is vulnerable, v3.55 and possibly beyond. It will be very difficult for Sony to fix the described exploits.

Earlier today iPhone Dev Team released redsn0w 0.9.6beta5 with a new functionality to update your iPhone baseband with iPad baseband and then unlock with Ultrasn0w 1.2 If you unfamiliar with all this process then we recommend you to go through Dev Team releases Ultrasn0w 1.2 Unlock for iOS 4.2.1 and Upgrade iPhone 3G, 3GS Baseband 06.15.00 with PwnageTool Unlock Edition

Following are the instructions to update your iPhone baseband to 06.15.00 with Redsn0w on Windows and Mac. Images in this guide depict the method on a Mac, but of course procedure is the same on Windows.

Requirements :

• Redsn0w 0.9.6beta5 (Download for Mac) (Download for Windows)
• iOS 4.2.1 for iPhone 3G
• iOS 4.2.1 for iPhone 3GS,      iOS 4.1 for iPhone 3GS
• iOS iPad 3.2.2

WARNING: If you are still on firmware 4.1 then don’t update your iPhone to 4.2.1 and follow our guide to Upgrade iPhone 3G, 3GS Baseband 06.15.00 with PwnageTool Unlock Edition. If you are already on 4.2.1 then you’ll have a tethered jailbreak for iPhone 3GS new bootrom.

• iPhone 3G are untethered up to iOS 4.2.1
• iPhone 3GS old with bootrom are untethered up to iOS 4.2.1
• iPhone 3GS new bootrom are untethered up to iOS 4.1
• iPhone 3GS new bootrom are tethered with iOS 4.2.1

Instructions :

1. If you have not already done so, update your device with iTunes to firmware 4.2.1 just downloaded.

2. RedSn0w 0.9.6b5 Start from the first screen and select the file. ipsw firmware 4.2.1 on clicking the browse button, and after that the program has identified the firmware and start a quick process

Note for Windows User: Run the program in "Administrator Mode" by clicking the right mouse button on. exe.

3. From the next screen select "Install Cydia" and "Install iPad baseband" and then click again on Next.

You will be warned again with a notice which describes very clearly the drawbacks of updating your baseband.

4. When redsn0w ask you to enter in DFU mode, follow the onscreen instructions and your device will be properly jailbreak in seconds.

Now your iPhone is jailbroken, but still locked, to unlock the phone simply install Ultrasn0w 1.2 through Cydia. Follow our guide to Unlock iPhone 3G, 3GS Baseband 05.14.02 or 05.15.04 with Ultrasn0w.

Following are the instructions to unlock iPhone 3G / 3GS Baseband 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, 06.15.00

Instructions to install ultrasn0w using cydia

Step One : Press to launch Cydia Installer from your Springboard.

Step Two : Press to select the Manage tab at the bottom of the screen.

Step Three : Press to select the large Sources button

Step Four : Press the Edit button at the top right of the screen.

Step Five  : Press the Add button at the top left of the screen.

Step Six : Enter http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com as the source url and press the Add Source button.

Note:ultrasn0w is spelled with a zero, not the letter “o”.

Step Seven : Once the source has been added press the large Return to Cydia button.

Step Eight : Press the Done button at the top right of the screen.

Step Nine : Press to select http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com/ from the list of user entered sources.

Step Ten : Press to select ultrasn0w from the list of packages.

Step Eleven : Press the Install button at the top right of the screen.

Step Twelve : Press the Confirm button at the top right of the screen.

Step Thirteen : After installation completes successfully press the reboot.

Step Fourteen : Now press the Home button then power off and power on the iPhone. You do this by holding down the power button for 3 seconds then moving the power slider that appears to the right. Press the power button again to turn on the phone.

Step Fifteen : You should now be able to insert the SIM of your choice!
