It’s over, at least it seems that it will be soon, Evasi0n jailbreak is about to be patched with upcoming iOS update. Apple has released a beta version of iOS 6.1.3 to its developers. This is the second beta of the famous mobile operating system, and no big surprises, team Evad3rs confirms: iOS 6.1.3 is jailbreak-proof and fixes a bug that allowed to run the jailbreak of iOS.
Forbes, who spoke with one of the Evad3ers key member, David Wang (also known on Twitter as the planetbeing). Wang has thoroughly tested iOS 6.1.3 Beta 2 over the weekend and found that the holes are been plugged:
Wang tells me he has analysed the update of the Beta 2 of iOS 6.1.3 and found that stage at least one of the five holes that uses the exploit to jailbreak, in particular, was a problem setting the time zone. The updated beta signals the end of the possibility of using Evasi0n to hack a new device or a device updated after the update will be distributed to users, said Wang, who is still controlling the patch to see if the other vulnerabilities used by jailbreak have been resolved.
This time Apple has been particularly slow to release an update that blocks the jailbreak, especially compared to past cases. Only a week ago, the first beta of iOS 6.1.3 did not solve the bug, while Evasi0n had already been installed on 7 million devices.
