Retina Display Support in OS X Lion | Rumor

25 April 2011 by Vinay No Comment

Imagine a Mac with a monitor capable of displaying images of 3200×2000 pixel resolution. According to the latest discoveries in the second version preview of OS X Lion, that was released recently, higher resolution icons and wallpapers were found. 3200 × 2000 resolution is much higher than any screen by Apple, till the date, recall that current gen iMac 27″ has a resolution of2560 × 1440 pixels). OSXDaily already suspect few days ago, that Lion would support the HiDPi (high pixel density) because of some lines of code found in the preview.

MacMagazine also noticed icon resolution of 1024 × 1024 , compared to 512 × 512, previously used in Mac OS X resolution. Hold your horses till the next WWDC, coming in June 2011.
