iOS 4.3 Jailbreak may Require iOS 4.2.1 Hashes
As you know iPhone dev team released Redsn0w 0.9.7 beta 1 to beta 5 (ongoing) in response to their promise to release an untethered jailbreak by Christmas evening. Comex failed to achieve the deadline that’s why Musclenerd released the “backup plan”. Let me explain, backup plan works with limited number of iDevice who saved iOS 4.2b3 SHSH. Reason is simple, Comex found a kernel vulnerability in iOS 4.2b3 which was fixed in final release. Latest version of redsn0w is capable to patch iOS 4.2.1 kernel by replacing with iOS 4.2b3 kernel but the condition is you must have your iOS 4.2b3 SHSH on Saurik server.
Musclenerd tipped one of his follower to save his 4.2.1 SHSH hashes for next untethered jailbreak (iOS 4.3)via Monte method. Apparently Comex is already succeed to find a kernel exploit in iOS 4.2.1, may be he is close. Anyway moral of the story is save your iOS 4.2.1 SHSH now if you haven’t already.
The Dev-Team has confirmed the arrival of the Redsn0w beta 5 soon, with support for Windows , it should arrive within 24 hours. Still it is not a final version but they say it will work well. In the meanwhile the folks at apple, inc are packing a new version of iOS for you in order to fix the alarm bug.
