Fail0verflow : PS3 Exploit Found, Jailbreak Coming Soon

Fail0verflow is the code name of the PS3 vulnerability found and revealed at 27th Chaos Communication Congress by hackers (bushing, marcan and sven). Fail0verflow is a way to overflow the bootup via replacing the NOR flash on startup. According to team “ PS3 totally failed in security, and the signing keys are there inside everyone’s PS3 Console ” Basically they found the PS3 private keys and this will allow anyone to sign executables and run them on any retail PS3.

Rubyra1n : GeoHot is Cooking next Jailbreak?

Folks over Redmondpie cracked an interested news regarding GeoHotz possible upcoming release of jailbreak. GeoHot registered Rubyra1n.com along with limera1n and limesn0w domains earlier this year. Nobody knows if Rubyra1n is untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 or is simply a placeholder for a future Jailbreak, but the domain is revealed and now expect more from GeoHot

We don’t have any confirmation from GeoHot, because he isn’t active in the scene but a little research revealed that purplera1n.com, limera1n.com, limesn0w.com domains are registered with name of GeoHot. We’ll post more information as …

Skype Video Calls via iPhone Coming Soon

Skype announced some time ago that they will announce some important announcements about the video support in upcoming CES 2011. A new support document on the Skype site suggests that video calling feature will be supported in a future upgrade to the Skype application on the iPhone. We expect some good news from CES in Las Vegas (scheduled January 6 to 9) when the company would officially present the new version of Skype for IOS.

Musclenerd just posted an update on official iPhone dev – team blog (read here), regarding iOS 4.2.1 untethered jailbreak. Dev team asked for beta testers to test the latest version of Redsn0w. Redsn0w to be Untethered, Hitting iDevices this Christmas

Musclenerd today, just confirmed that the next gen redsn0w which will work on geohot’s limera1n will make 4.2.1 untethered. For the folks who have 4.2.1 on their idevices and have jailbroken already will not have to restore their devices, since the new redsn0w will just require a re-run redsn0w  and the new ramdisk will install on its own and replace the old one.

Kickback : Hackulous Planning to Pirate Mac App Store

iPhone 4 Unlock Less Than a Month Away?

Sherif hashim, the man behind the 5.14.02 exploit which was used for 4.0 unlock has appeared in the unlocking scene once again. There have been rumors about  unlocks for iOS 4.2.1 . Finally, We got a little ray of light about ultrasn0w on Twitter from Egyptian baseband hacker Sherif Hashim.
