Unlock iPhone 3GS iOS 4.1 With Ultrasn0w

As you know Apple released iOS 4.1, the latest firmware update contains baseband update and it’s un-compatible with Ultrasn0w. Fortunately iPhone 3GS with old bootrom can be jailbroken with pwnage tool. You can follow our guide to Jailbreak iPhone 3GS iOS 4.1 with Pwnage Tool (Unofficial). Following are the instructions to unlock iPhone 3GS iOS 4.1 jailbroken with pwnage tool.

Instructions to install ultrasn0w using cydia :

Step One : Press to launch Cydia Installer from your Springboard.

Step Two : Press to select the Manage tab at the bottom of the screen.

Step Three : Press to select the large Sources button

Step Four : Press the Edit button at the top right of the screen.

Step Five : Press the Add button at the top left of the screen.

Step Six : Enter http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com as the source url and press the Add Source button.

Note:ultrasn0w is spelled with a zero, not the letter “o”.

Step Seven : Once the source has been added press the large Return to Cydia button.

Step Eight : Press the Done button at the top right of the screen.

Step Nine : Press to select http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com/ from the list of user entered sources.

Step Ten : Press to select ultrasn0w from the list of packages.

Step Eleven : Press the Install button at the top right of the screen.

Step Twelve : Press the Confirm button at the top right of the screen.

Step Thirteen : After installation completes successfully press the reboot.

Step Fourteen : Now press the Home button then power off and power on the iPhone. You do this by holding down the power button for 3 seconds then moving the power slider that appears to the right. Press the power button again to turn on the phone.

Step Fifteen : You should now be able to insert the SIM of your choice!

Yes It should work for the 3G, Exceot the new pwnage tool only supports the 3GS and ipod touch

Hey i can tell u just get information and not test. Ultrasn0w is very buggy on 4.1 so guys unless you wan your iphone 3gs to works as a slow 2g go right ahead plus it reboot .So please and don’t attempt this until ultrasn0w is updated.

I just updated my 3G to 4.1 with pwnage tool, got into cydia, added ultrasn0w. My phone performs faster, but my signal is stuck on ”searching”…when I go into settings the error message is ”unable to display networks”

I jailbreak iphone 3g with os 4.1 and modem firmware 5.14.02, but not catch any signal for any provider. I am using tmobile, but the phone is not recognize tmobile and not recognize at&t. Is jailbreak and have cydia, but not recognize the sim card.

limera1n worked fine for the jailbreak. After Ultrasn0w I am stuck on searching. Any ideas? I tried my original chip from Softbank and my Thai chip. Same results.

after jailbreak using Limera1n i installed the Cydia and ultrasn0w package, after rebooting the iphone 3gs its appearing no service on signal status.

and now i have finally unlocked but all the networks such as ‘vodafone,Meteor,O2,3G Ireland’ are working and only ‘tesco mobile’network is not working.
