Jailbreak Sony PS3 With Google Nexus One or HTC Desire
Sony Playstation Jailbreak progress is on a roll, after release of long awaited modchip, we are getting reports of successful jailbreak booting with phones. Finally it is possible to hack a PS3 from a phone with Android (in this case was confined to a Nexus One). We are still waiting for hackers to port PSGroove in to iPhone. No wonder that in a few days we will see a new firmware update from Sony, so don’t hit that software update button if you want to preserve your jailbreak.
- Download (click here) the package, extract it.
- Extract N1-CM6-PSFreedom.tar.gz and copy the contents to your SD card.
- Copy PS3-signed.zip and PS3-No-More-signed.zip to your SD card.
- Reboot into the recovery console.
- Install/flash PS3-signed.zip.
- Reboot your phone.
- Use ConnectBot or any terminal app and type:
- cd /mnt/sdcard
- su
- insmod psfreedom.ko
- Kill the power to your PS3, switch on the back (PS3 Fat) or unplug from the wall (PS3 Slim), and connect your phone via USB.
- Re-enable power and press the PS3 power button followed by the eject button in quick succession.
- Your PS3 is now hacked! You’ll see “Install Package Files” under GAME on the XMB.
To return your phone to normal just boot back to recovery and flash PS3-No-More-signed.zip. It’s that easy.
VIA PS3 Hacks

The new firmware version from Sony is already out and it does block PSGroove, PSJailbreak and all other versions. So be careful not to update to 3.42, the PS3 Jailbreak method is only guaranteed to work with firmware 3.41. And don’t try to go online with a hacked PS3, it could very well be possible that hacked consoles will be banned à la Xbox Live.
There are a number of other port, including Dingoo, TI/84+ calculator, Palm Pre and Nokia N900. People are still busy trying to port PSGroove to the iPhone/iPod/iPad and PSP and Spanish hackers are even studying the possibility of using the sixaxis controller (the wired one).
