Jailbroken Apple Stores

5 August 2010 by Vinay 5 Comments

With the release of Jailbreakme.com by Comex a new threat has been unleashed to Apple’s iDevices that are kept on display in Apple Stores.

The iOS 4 Jailbreak released just a few days ago uses an exploit in Safari’s PDF Viewer allowing you to Jailbreak your device with out the use of a computer. Therefore anyone that walks into an Apple store is able to Jailbreak the display models at will.

Two days ago on August 2nd I took a trip to the Apple Store located in the Roosevelt Field Mall in New York and to my surprise many of the devices in the store were already Jailbroken.

We can only assume the Apple Store Employees will be thrilled every night restoring all of the display models. An update patching the exploit used in the iOS4 Jailbreak will unfortunately be here before we know it. Yeah, I was in Apple Store and couldn’t help myself. I jailbroke 4 iPhones. Then installed Winterboard and added Royal Deluxe theme. Then used MIM to change ATT to Sprint and sign the banner iPhone4idiots. Of course I used my iPhone 4 to film the fun –
