succesful jailbreak my ipod touch 3g. it is so simple that i dont think it is jailbreak.
I got an Oops… message that doesn’t let me go through the entire process. Everytime I try to do it again, it seems to know that there was an earlier problem and the Oops… message stays.
Didn’t work for me on an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.0.
I figure it out. You need to make sure you don’t have any Passcode active in your phone. Passcode should be OFF. Then go to jailbreakme.com and it will work.

Reboot your iphone. After go to jailbreakme.modmyi.com instead of jailbreakme.com
Thats all.
remove or change your password lock from immediate to 5 mins.

I have the same problem, I pull the slider on http://www.jailbreakme.com and then nothing happens – I go to the blank screen with the background image and it waits forever… I am also on 3GS 4.0.1

having trouble gets as far as the 1st splash screen then freezes , when i do it again tells me the “Installer has crashed , try again ” and thats it any suggestions . Cheers

I get to the downloading message, then “oops, the hostname on this server cannot be found” what’s up with that? It worked fine last night!

Same here. Go to the site, it says downloading, then says sit tight, then Safari crashes…3GS running 4.0.1
For those of you who can not get the slider to move … make sure Javascript is enabled in Safari. For some reason my iphone 4 had JS disabled out of the box when I got my new phone. Turned it on, and all worked well.

I get the screen that says “downloading” it downloads, and then goes to the next screen that says “jail breaking. sit tight” then I guess it crashes and goes straight to my home screen. I have iPhone 4 with iOS 4.0. I went to jailbreakme.com last night and jailbroke my iPhone 4. It installed Cydia and I could also install Installous with no problems whatsoever. Everything worked fine. BUT…………. this morning I upgraded my firmware to 4.0.1 because I read that jailbreakme works with 4.0.1 also. Now I am stuck on the “Oops… It looks like the installer crashed last time you tried to jailbreak.

When I slide the slider, it goes to Downloading screen…. it completes and I get the Jailbreaking Sit Tight screen for just 1 second and then the Safari crashes and goes back to the Home screen. I have tried restaring the phone, removed the passcode, everything. Any suggestions? Pls help. Shit I should not have updated the firmware to 4.0.1 as it worked perfectly on my iPhone 4 with 4.0.

tried and download ends – for 1 sec I see the next screen and it shuts down safari and back to main screen

If it doesnt work the first time, reboot the phone (turn off and on) and try again. It might take a few reboots to work.
What about security. Jailbreakme.com was allowed by iphone to install some program on my iphone without my permission (slidebar is by my opinion only nice thinks from jailbreak developers). I think now it is very easy to misuse this procedure to install wrong sw on your iphone.
