How to Fix Purple screen, Jailbreakme Hang Errors

2 August 2010 by Vinay 11 Comments

As you know Comex released his most anticipated jailbreak solution for all iDevices including each and every model of iPod touch, iPhone and iPad running on iOS 4.0 or iOS 4.0.1 JailbreakMe works in a whole new way: we will not need any PC / Mac or cable but just a simple internet connection and Mobile Safari. All you need to go to jailbreakme.com on your iDevice and slide to jailbreak. We already published how to jailbreak guides for iPhone 3GS (check here) and iPhone 4 (check here).

We are getting so many questions in form of comments, e-mails and via twitter that they are facing random issues like blank purple screen, download isn’t starting or jailbreakme screen hangs. Following are the few handy tips you can try.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

  • jailbreakme.com is hammered with a loads of traffic today so you can use an alternate replica provided by modmyi, simply browse to jailbreakme.modmyi.com instead of jailbreakme.com
  • Clear your Mobile Safari cache, go to Setting >> Safari and hit the clear history, clear cookies and clear cache button. Now try again to jailbreak.
  • Sometimes a simple reboot and then reinstalling jailbreak is good enough to overcome these random problems

    If you have an iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 (preferably on OS 4.0 or 4.0.1) a slightly different way is to reboot your iPhone then do these steps:

    1) put your iphone to Airplane mode.

    2) Go to -> Setting -> safari -> Cookies -> Accept.

    3) Double tap home button.

    4) Press and hold to quit safari (in multitask mode)

    5) Clear all Cache n cookies.

    6) Put your iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 back into wi-fi and or 3G mode.

    7) Open safari and go to jailbreakme.modmyi.com

    8) If it doesn’t work just repeat the steps
