Ming-Chih Kuo, the Taiwanese analyst talked with Digitimes [check here] about Apples upcoming iPhone. According to Ming Apple was looking for possibility of the OLED-display in the iPhone 4G, but eventually abandoned the idea. One of the reasons to refuse OLED in the iPhone – problems in the supply from Samsung, with whom Apple is going to negotiate about the OLED-technology still under development 3GS.
Kuo said that the iPhone 4G will not be accurate and AMOLED-display (like the top phones from Samsung). In the first place – because of certain shortcomings of these screens: they are not designed to display a large amount of text. Given that Apple is now vigorously promoting the idea of reading on screen electronic devices, AMOLED not suit us at this time.
According to the analyst, Apple should pay immediate attention to the LCD-Display Technology IPS, established in the iPad. The distinguishing feature – a wide viewing angle, is not that unusual, even for smartphones, but for most laptops. The new iPhone, we can expect no less outstanding performance – that such displays are likely and will be installed in 4G.
