Thunderstr0m iPhone baseband 05.12.01 unlock, another fake?

We just heard about Thunderst0rm, a new method of iPhone 3G/3GS jailbreak and unlock developed by group of swiss hackers / students. According to official site of Thunderstr0m they achieved jailbreak and unlock of iPhone 3G and 3GS with firmware 3.1.3 and baseband 05.12.01. Developers of thunderstr0m are planning to release in the wild on April 23, after several tests.

Don’t get your hopes so high, in recent months lots of new teams popped up and claim to have a working unlock/jailbreak but none of them released a working model. So we advise you to stick with us and wait for iPhone Dev team and GeoHot to release their tools.

This is a fake the pic has been photoshopped…. If it does get released an turns out to work I still wouldn’t touch it. Wont use any software other than Geohots or DevTeam. Best thing to do is wait, if u just bought an iphone and have the new fw then just wait!

Maybe apple has proven that they can not be defied and their technicians are indeed the smartest after all (I bet they would have downloaded Blackra1n, yellow snow etc and exploited their weaknesses and found way to block them once and for all – sneaky buggers). Maybe there will never be a program based JB or Unlock 3.1.3 & 05.12.01.

It’s apple’s way or the high way……that p*sses me off

Well, if it really is a fake, they’ve set it up very carefully. They don’t state whether the jailbreak for the 3Gs is thethered or not but strange enough they claim the jailbreak for the 3Gs but not for the iTouch 2 and 3. I thought those where almost identical.

Who knows, Maybe theese guys are über smart xD ‘Let’s hope to cuz I want my iPhone 3GS unlocked’ But if they release it then hope Dev-team take advantage of that and check their program and release a look-a-like tool to unlock the 05.12 Baseband.
