Limera1n iPhone OS 3.1.3, 4.0 / iPad Untethered Jailbreak

iHackintosh reader [Tom_Wallace] tipped us about limera1n.com, a site with no information and featuring an image of green drop (limera1n) very similar to black drop (blackra1n). Our tipster claimed that GeoHot will release limera1n on April 30th. We don’t have any confirmation from GeoHot but a little research revealed that purplera1n.com domain is registered with name of GeoHot so there is no doubt about the authenticity of the site.

Checking with Who is Domain tools, we note that it is headed right for George, with all the information , address and email that coincide perfectly with the data with which it was made out with blackra1n.com

Looks like geohot isn’t interesting to release his jailbreak until iPhone 4G release scheduled this june/july.

Is this supposed to be a jailbreak for devices with newer bootroms (MC model / 3G iPod touch)? Typically, I only see that these promised jailbreaks will work on iPhone 3Gs in particular.
Oh and by the way, if there is not a jailbreak out by April 30th, there should be one out around May 7th (the release of iPad 3G).

well the official dev team blog says the expected date of 3.1.3 unlock is end of June or July. So probably this wont be an unlock tool and if its only a jailbreak solution, doesnt sound interesting to locked community right now

I hate to “ra1n” on everyone’s parade, but if you dig a little further you will find that the domain of limera1n was initiated from an IP address in Orem, Utah. So unless GeoHotz had a sudden interest in going to visit some Mormon hackers, I doubt that this is the real deal.

Don’t know why they hve problems with release dates. If they don’t know one or don’t have one, just say so. If you’re not gonna do that, don’t release release videos of your products. Love what geo has done, but such an attention whore.

Just check geohot’s blog last post is I make it ra1n on dem ipads but…. If you look closer it’s blackrain that is on there not limera1n, just wait for blackra1n RC4. Limera1n is a fail.
