Gull1hack : Yet Another iPhone 3GS Untethered Jailbreak Claim

We just found another iPhone 3GS untethered jailbreak claim from Gull1hack team. Source isn’t reliable and they don’t have any track record for previous developments. We can’t verify or confirm their claim at the moment, but their video demo looks promising. Gull1hack team claims their exploit to work not only in models with a new iPhone 3GS bootrom, but in all iPhone and iPod Touch models till the date.

According to Pattyland “We just found an amazing Exploit in the Boot-System of the 3GS with the new Bootrom! This Exploit works on ALL iPhone and iPod Touches! While booting, we overun the buffer memory, letting the iPhone think there is something wrong; But in the moment it tries to enter safe mode, we send a boot signal like Blackra1n or Redsn0w “ Gull1hack team also posted a video of their development.

Interesting how the iPhone in the posted video shows t-mobile in the status bar, has a 24-hour clock in the status bar, and shows its battery percentage in the status bar (SBSettings or blacksn0w anyone?). We will just have to wait and see if this is real or not.

gull1hack is a fake, the video doesn’t demostrate the unthetered jailbreak, they want visits in their blog to obtain money from sponsors. (see the bottom of the blog http://gull1b0ard.blogspot.com/).

T-mobile as carrier isnt strange, The netherlands has t-mobile as standard carrier and the battery percentage can be turned on in settings. Not sure bout the 24 hour clock, but i think thats not strange also, seeing europe doesnt use AM/PM in its time and probably has that standard set to 24 hours display. All depends where they are from.

Looks German to me. Montag and Februar are German. Germany has T-Mobile too. So far so good. At the bottom of their blog it says “No computer required!” How is that possible?

Just a note. Automaticiphoneunlocker new jailbreak does not work. I went as far as step 4, the instructions say to browse and open the firmware ipsw, it then say “Unable to verify ipsw”, another dud. I think the best solution is waiting for the expert on the Dev team. Keep up the good work. I just hope there is a solution soon. I paid for many 3rd party apps and I can’t use it.

Haha. Thank you for correcting me, I didn’t know that iphone’s had those features by default. Goes to show that I should be careful what to say. Lets hope that, of this is real, that the exploit gets held from public release until the new iphone and/or ipad gets released.
