PkgBackup to Backup and Restore Your Cydia Applications

27 December 2009 by Vinay One Comment

Recently i got some mails and bunch of questions on twitter regarding how to backup existing Cydia packages before installing new firmware. Personally i used to make a list of my apps before restore/update my firmware so i can install later, it’s a time consuming process but i prefer stability more than the one time pain. But for those who installed large amount of Cydia tweaks should consider PkgBackup, PkgBackup is an easy to use Cydia App that allows you to back up & restore all the cydia packages installed in your iPhone. You can even share/exchange/send your packages lists to others on Facebook also.

PkgBackup works neatly and AptBackup does not really work that well. Also, PkgBackup is much easier to use. It is also up to date and being further developed. AptBackup I don’t believe has been updated for sometime, which is probably why it does not work so well with the newer OS. PkgBackup is Available in Cydia Store at a cost of $1.99

this is THEE must have cydia app for them all!
I’ve literally used this everyday this week as I restored 7 times, without this I would’ve spent countless hours staring at my phone instead of setting this to auto restore and saving the headache and hassle
