Jailbreak iPhone 2G 3G 3GS 3.1.2 on Windows Custom Firmware

Dev team released Pwnage tool 3.1.4 for jailbreaking iPhone 2G 3G and 3GS with the 3.1.2 firmware. iPhone 3G and 3GS users are advised to use Pwnage tool for retaining their current baseband. Most of iPhone user doesn’t owns a Mac and waiting for a windows solution. Here is the guide to Jailbreak and Unlock your iPhone 3GS with firmware 3.1 All you have to do is download a custom firmware, this custom firmware is created with Dev team Pwnage Tool that strips out the baseband update from the upgrade.

I have an iPhone 3GS 3.1/3.1.2 blackra1ned : You can jailbreak but not the unlock
I have an iPhone 3GS 3.1/3.1.2 non jailbreaked : Jailbreak (Blackra1n) first then you are in

Guide to Jailbreak iPhone 2G 3G 3GS on OS 3.1 Windows

Step One : Download the custom firmware and place to your desktop. These custom firmware are Jailbreaked and contains Cydia for using the full potential of jailbreaking.

Download iPhone 2G 3G 3GS 3.1.2 Custom Firmware : Google is your F.R.I.E.N.D

Please do not ask links to custom IPSWs in your comments, because the software in them is copyrighted by Apple. For legal issues we can’t link you for modified custom firmware.

Step Two : Put your iPhone in Recovery mode by following instructions.

Turn the device completely off and disconnect it from cable/dock.

Hold down the home button.

While holding down the home button connect to a computer with a cable (easiest) or dock.

Keep holding down the home button until you see a connect-to-iTunes screen You are now in recovery mode.

Step Three : Launch iTunes, hold the shift key and then hit Restore button. For Mac hold Option key on your Mac and then hit the restore button. Make sure to hit the restore button.In the dialog box that pops up, browse the downloaded custom firmware file and let iTunes do it’s job. Once the upgrade is finished you haven’t need to jailbreak it again since it was already jailbroken.

what happened was that i DL the FM 3.1.2 from ihackintosh (i think its stock fm) then restored my 3gs so i can use Blackrain on it.

but for sumreason, i was stuck on recovery screen and fone was only letting me the emergency call option, couldn’t even access the home screen, it was asking me to put a carrier SIM to activate the fone.

then i followed this, found custom fw 3.1.2 (after spending like 4 hr in google)then tried to restore my 3GS, but itunes gave me 2 errors. error (1600) n error (1604).

so what i did was, i saved my ECID n SHSH using iREB and ran Blackra1n anyways. the program worked like it promised and the fone rebooted once again to the same screen i had (with recovery mode n all)

they i tried restoring to custom fm n it worked, i knw the fone is JB coz the custom fm already has Cydia n Icy on my home screen.

soo i hope this is good .
can anyone tell me what the hell happened with my fone. don’t care as long as it works, but just curious….

Go to itunes update to real 3.1.2 then go to itunes again and restore with the custom FW

If you get error 1600 or 1602 trying reinstalling itunes
Dont go into DFU mode, it is Recovery mode for Windows users

Felix burns is the site i used to get firmware even though it was god awful slow,

and there’s that partition thing that i don’t understand yet … i found many firmwares with different partitions … on some forumes i read that any over 700-partition would cause the iphone to freeze !

Yesterday the internet stopped working and I did reset network settings. The systme did reboot and the iphone is now stuck in the apple logo only and wont turn on. I put it in DFU mode and tried to restore custom firmware but itunes error 1600 on mac and 1601 on windows.

My iphone currenly dead -> only apple icon (no cable&disc)
