Blackra1n : GeoHot Jailbreaked the iPod Touch 3G

Last time it was purplera1n and this time it’s blackra1n, yes GeoHot succeeds to Jailbreak iPod Touch 3G with firmware 3.1 GeoHot posted a screenshot of his jailbreaked iPod touch on his blog. GeoHot implemented his exploit to iPod Touch and he also revealed the name of his jailbreak utility Blackra1n. According to the GeoHot same exploit works in a totally identical even 3GS with firmware 3.0 and iPhone firmware 3.1 native. So we can expect it’ll be available for download within next 24 hours. Blackra1n will require only 10 seconds to run the jailbreak.

Recently many new developer claims to release their own iPhone Jailbreak, Unlock utility like iH8sn0w,

AppuloHa1l, Blacksn0w etc. Don’t fall in such claims to unlock iPhone with 05.11.07 baseband, also if your phone relies on unlock then don’t use GeoHotz tools without reading the complete documentation. Musclenerd also warned : 3G/3GS carrier unlockers must avoid any 3.1 JB that doesn’t involve custom IPSW, otherwise unlock is lost!

W1kedz developer of Fuzzyband also tweeted that downgrading the baseband from 5.11.07 to 4.26.08 is possible only for those who have bootloader 5.8 only. In simple language the upcoming tool from GeoHot, Chronic (maybe) are for jailbreaking only. Yesss.. ive been checking back almost every hour for daays for this news. i upgraded to the 3gs from the 3g and it was 3.1 was preinstalled it ruined my day.. hopefully blackra1n will work for the iphone as well. im sure it will

I have a factory unlocked 3GS which was jailbroken with redsn0w whilst running 3.0. I missed the first round of Saurik’s Cydia storage process but was able to use it a few weeks later for the second round.

Last night I was the iphone failed (v3.0) so I was forced to restore to 3.1 via itunes.

What position am I in? Will I be able to jailbreak using Pwnage (MAC)? Can I use the downgrade service via Cydia?

I just not sure where I am with this. Thanks
