iREB : Fix "16xx" and "21" error during a restore in iTunes | Mac and Windows

iREB a small handy utility for Windows and Mac that can solve the mistakes “16xx” and “21″ from iTunes that are displayed after a reset or a firmware downgrade. iREB is developed by iH8sn0w, and today he released a new update for iREB. When you will be presented such an error will not have to do is start and follow the instructions on the screen. I recommend you download it and keep it somewhere in your computer .. can come in useful

    When i try to restore iphone firmware from 3.1 to 3.0 and 3.0.1 to 3.0 by using itune
    i never got “An unknow error…” but i always got “The iPhone “XXX” could not be restored. This device isn’t eligible for the requested build. ”

    what should i do, i use itune 9.0 on mac and windows and try to itune 8.2 the result is same

    That’s because you have a 3G S. When you try to restore to a lower version of firmware iTunes/Apple will not sign the firmware except for the latest firmware, which as of this writing is 3.1. The reason for it is the extra layer of security the iPhone 3G S has compared to the 3G.

    I have Iphone 3G and tried to update itunes and OS tonight. Itunes updated successfully to 9.0 but when I was upgrading phone it went through everything and as it was updating it froze whle updating software. I tried to restore and now it is freezing when it gets to restoring software. My phone is useless at this point. It won’t do anytihng but show me a pic of a usb cable and the itunes logo. PLEASE HELP…

    Open up snowbreeze and follox instructions after that open up IREB and click on your device wait a few seconds and this will work I had a hard time doing it without going through snowbreeze
