Hello,

Thought I would assist with anyone having issues doing this.

**DO NOT enter -v -f. It screws it up OR it did for me.
**Choose instead -v only.
**If/when your screen goes black, hook it up to an external monitor and switch to that monitor (Fn+F8).
**If the screen is grey, close the lid and follow the above instructions at the pulsing power display stage.
**If it's not grey, wait... maybe two minutes and if it turns grey follow the above instructions.
**If upon waiting, nothing happens, reboot (via power button; note, you must hold it down for about 45 seconds for it to fully shut off).
**Restart with -v and repeat with external monitor

I found that Darwin was trying to start hibernate after installing when using -f and this was screwing it up. Removed -f and used only -v (though not needed really) and it's now working.

Good luck!

Hi There,

I have followed each and every step of this tutorial (for iPC 10.5.6) but still i am unsuccessful in running MAC OSX. After installation and on first bootup the screen is staying black. Tried waiting patiently so many times but with not luck. After every boot using -v -f (-v by itself, -v -x also) after some messages the blue screen comes then the bloddy hell the BLACK screen. Tried removing power cord closing lid and waiting till the laptop goes to sleep (approx 15-20 min) and then finally opening the lid still the screen staying black. Never seen the Mac OSX desktop on my Dell Inspiron 1525. About my system: 3 drive partitions, one having XP, installed Mac OSX on the second one and third is for storing stuff. Just want to know that do i have to install Mac OSX first then Win Xp as i am doing opposite. I already has Win XP on my dell. Dell configuration:

IntelCore2Duo T8300 @ 2.4 GHz, Intel GM965 chipset, X3100 display card, Ethernet Marvell Yukon, Wireless Intel Pro 3945 (i think), Sigmatel HD Audio Codec.

Any help would be appreciated. Is there any specific Custom Options to choose upon installtion????

Please help
