How to Enable MMS on OS 3.1 (AT&T)

AT&T is all set to launch MMS for iPhone on 25th September, krillr posted his latest hack to enable ipcc support for iPhone OS 3.1 and iTunes 9 with simple commands. All you have to do is to perform the following commands in your Mac or Windows machine and voila you have enabled MMS on your iPhone without interrupting Visual Voicemail feature. Though we haven’t found a working model for enabling tethering on OS 3.1 so keep checking your favorite iPhone hack site daily.

Enable MMS for Mac OS X

      • Close iTunes if it is open.
      • Start Terminal Applications > Utilities
      • Run the following command:

      defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

      • Download IPCC file (right click this link and save it as ATT_US.ipcc).
      • Connect your iPhone 3G/iPhone 3GS to your computer and open iTunes.
      • Press Option on your keyboard and at the same time click on Update in the iTunes window
      • Locate your ATT_US.ipcc file you downloaded earlier and click Choose. Now reboot and enjoy MMS on your iPhone.

      Enable MMS for Windows

      • Go to Start -> Run
      • type in "cmd" without quotes and hit enter
      • Type/copy+paste this into the command console that comes up:

      cd C:Program FilesiTunes

      iTunes.exe /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

      Capture

      • Download IPCC file (right click this link and save it as ATT_US.ipcc).
      • Connect your iPhone 3G/iPhone 3GS to your computer and open iTunes.
      • Press Shift on your keyboard and at the same time click on Update in the iTunes window
      • Locate your ATT_US.ipcc file you downloaded earlier and click Choose. Now reboot and enjoy MMS on your iPhone.

        @ Brandon Repeat the commands again, if works fine then okay otherwise try with iTunes 8.2

        I installed the ipcc, but the mms wont send. it just gets stuck and says error.

        Everytime I download the ipcc file and try to open it, my computer says the file is currupt??? Im using a Jailbroken/Unlocked iphone 3G. Please Help…

        I’m running on a Custom Firmware and want to install/enable MMS on my 3G 3.1 Custom firmware. can i use this method and not worry about crashing/bricking my phone to get mms to work.
