Download Pwnage Tool for iPhone OS 3.1

Dev team released the most awaited version of PwnageTool ( Mac ) for jailbreaking your iPhone 2G/3G with firmware 3.1. In order to unlock your iPhone 3G you have to use UltraSn0w modified version of YellowSn0w. PwnageTool will allows a special Device Support file which, when in DFU mode, allows a custom restore to be flashed. Once this has been done once, you can continue to restore to custom firmware without ‘pwning’ again. In simple words pwning is the process which inserts a special support file in to your iPhone which allows the custom or modified firmware’s while your iPhone is in DFU mode. This whole process is completely reversible, just restore to a stock Apple firmware file and everything is back to normal.

Please Note : iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3G support is not included yet.

GOLDEN RULE: If you are using a 3G iPhone with ultrasn0w and rely on ultrasn0w to obtain cellular service, then you should only upgrade to 3.1 with a PwnageTool created .ipsw. – Stay away from Apple’s direct updates as described here and here please get up to speed on the whole subject by reading the information contained in these posts.
If you have an original iPhone (1st generation) then 3.1 unlock works with this PwnageTool release. iPhone 3G users upgrading to 3.1 will need to continue using ultrasn0w with a PwnageTool created 3.1 .ipsw

I got your golden rules, but my situation is a bit complicated. I accidentally upgraded to 3.0 (oops) and now need to re-jailbreak my phone… I tried to downgrade to 3.0 but now it keeps asking for a valid SIM. As I live in Mozambique, that’s not possible. Can I use Pwnage to jailbreak when it’s set on emergency calls only? And how do I download Pwnage, you links bring up Error 404.

It’s not recommended anymore, but you may have some luck with “ziPhone” activating your iphone without itunes. It got me activated on 2.0 back then.

I upgraded my iphone to 3.1 but i haven’t unlock the phone yet (ATT), my problem is i can’t unlock it and i was trying to restore it to the older firmware but it wont go through, do you have any advice on this? thanks in advance
