Create Ringtones from iPhone Library within iPhone

24 September 2009 by Vinay 4 Comments

iSpazio released a new update for Ringtones coming to version 2.88 and becomes compatible with firmware 3.0 and 3.1. The purpose of this application is to convert the songs in the media library in ringtones for the iPhone to set as incoming call tone and leads through the system preferences. Means you needn’t to create custom ringtones on PC or Mac then to install them via SSH, just select the song and convert to ringtone using the iPhone itself.

The operation is very simple: By running the application you must click Start Converting. Now scroll through the list of artists and choose the song you want. A click on the title will bring up a pop-up asking if you use the Quick Convert Convert or Advanced. Unfortunately, the second option is not available yet so you just need to click on the Quick Conversion, wait about a minute and launch the native application set under the voice sounds.

You Will find the ringtone correctly converted and with a click will set the default on all incoming calls.

A new feature Advanced Conversion will be implemented shortly. With Advanced Conversion you can select the length of time (30 seconds) to crop and add effects fade in and fade-out.

Hey, I was wondering what the name of this app is. It’s EXACTLY what I’m looking for, and have been unable to find until now. I tried searching for “Ringtones,” as that was in bold print, but that didn’t really work… at least not how I wanted it to. Any help would be appreciated, or names of other apps that do this.

Have the latest version Ringtones 2.88 on my 3GS using 3.1
firmware. The app opens up fine (sometimes a slight delay) and
appears to work. I can browse all songs in my library and play
them from inside the app. After selecting a song to convert,
it says that it’s converting and can take “~1 minute to complete.”
However, I cannot find it listed in the native “Sounds” settings or
or anywhere else on the phone (even after searching). Is there
anyone else with a 3GS on 3.1 that got this app to work?

Brian, I have the same problem as you. apparently the application saves the ringtones into /private. I believe we need to use bosstools (which is unavailable to us now via Cydia) to direct it to the folder. anyone can solve this problem?
