Unlock iPhone OS 3.0 Without WiFi Manually

16 August 2009 by Vinay 15 Comments

Last time we published a guide on How to unlock iPhone 3G OS 3.0 without WiFi & Cydia. In that trick we used Offline Patch for Windows Users only. 90% of our readers successfully unlocked their iPhones with that patch but some of them reported that batch file isn’t opening on their machine, patch is not working etc. etc. And many of them says they are facing many weird problems after updating UltraSn0w to 0.91-1 and so on. Here is the final solution, UltraSn0w 0.6 Payload files which are ripped off from my phone and all you have to do is to place these two files on a specific location and reboot your phone. T-Mobile users please make sure to turn off 3G in settings before using any unlocking option. Before getting started download these two files and follow the steps given below.

  1. Download UltraSn0w 0.6 Payload files Here.
  2. Download Latest version of DiskAid for Mac & Windows Here.

Guide To Unlock iPhone 3G OS 3.0 without Cydia :

  • Update your iPhone to OS 3.0 and apply Redsn0w to Jailbreak your iPhone ( Just in case). For your ease we have a easy to understand guide Jailbreak iPhone 3G OS 3.0 With RedSn0w on Windows Mac.
  • Download and Extract the UltraSn0w Payload file to your Desktop. There are two files in the package first is UltraSn0w Daemon and second is .plist file.
  • Download and Install DiskAid, Connect your phone to computer and launch DiskAid to explore file system of your phone.
  • In disk aid explore /usr/bin and copy UltraSn0w Daemon here, Now and put that plist file in /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ and reboot your iPhone, That’s it.

No m8 i can confirm this method did not work on o2 locked 3g v3.0 uk. phone boots and displays 1 signal bar but no calls can be made/recieved also if airplane mode is toggled the sig bar reverts to invalid sim however i left the 2 files in iphone root then ran the patch method mentioned previously(0.8) with vista sp1 and phone works fine on all uk networks

    Thanx devs

    hi,

i ran the process as suggested and the issue is that i cant get any service.

Initially i ran the process and the phone just kept searching for the network. So i restored the version 3.0 from itunes, jailbreaked it again, copied the files as mentioned in the post above, but still for some reason it shows the network bars now but it still doesnt get any signals or a network for that matter and i cant make any calls.

Could you please help on what i need to do and what could be wrong here.

    Thank and regards,

    Saad

There are probably many reasons for no service after jailbreak and ultrasn0w, but I wanted to let y’all know what happended to Qty 2 3G phones I bought in Malaysia. Apparently, they were unlocked phones bought in Australia and brought into Hong Kong and “fixed” prior to being shipped to Malaysia. The phones originally worked fine with just about any SIM, however over time they started loosing service and with 3.0 and ultrasn0w they became close to hopeless.

With the custom 3.1 ipsw and the 3.0 baseband, I started getting No Sim. I took the 2 phones to an “iphone doctor” and decided to open up the phone to see if I might have broken some SIM contact pins:

Surprise Surprise: On the very bottom of the circuit boards, we found a TurboSIM of some sort glued on with thin copper wires running up to the SIM card holder…. We removed it and both phones are working fine.

    How about them chinese…

Hey Benn, I think you might have saved my marriage. My phone was also purchased in Malaysia and I was having the same problem with “no service”. I opened up the phone to find a sim also stuck inside wired to my main board. I ripped it out and picked up signal after reboot. Thanks.
