6 July 2009 by Vinay 10 Comments

Finally Push Notification Activation patch hits Cydia. iPhoneIL nicely packaged the Push Notifications patch released by iPhone Dev Team in to a Cydia Package. The iPhone OS 3.0 Software Update includes some great new features, as well as all the features from previous updates. One major feature included was Push Notification. It uses push technology through a constantly-open IP connection to forward notifications from the servers of third party applications to the iPhone or iPod Touch; such notifications may include badges, sounds or custom text alerts. But Push wasn’t working with hactivated iPhone which were unlocked or jailbreaked with Redsn0w. Finally wait is over now you can apply a simple patch via Cydia.

Warning : Before installing this patch uninstall all Push supported application and after installation of the patch reinstall the Push supported application again. Also if YouTube doesn’t works after the patch then reinstall the patch again.

Guide : In simple words Add cydia.iphoneil.net as new repository and then search and install Push Fix. Or if you are newbie follow the steps given below.

Step 1 : launch Cydia from your SpringBoard.

Just curious, does the 3G work with push notification without this patch? Does an iPhone 3G need a similar patch?

    Hi Vinay,
I am alittle confused at this post..my email gets “pushed”…I have a 2g EDGE iphone, jailbroken and unlocked using redsn0w on a PC running XP, so I now have OS3.0
What is the advantage of this? getting a notification? I may be being dense here…. Maybe some one else can help me figure out what I’m missing..
Thanks! I am always excited to see a new post…
