hi,
i just bought ihpone 2g 1.1.4 firmwaRE versiit used to be on phone. THIS PHONE used to be at&t contract. so i am trying to jailbreak and unlock. i did ziphone method and redsnow also. when i was using redsnow, final stage, phone stuck in downloading jailbreak data.. i tried in vista, xp, windows 7, and diffrent usb port, cable. but all same. and ziphone process not complete. how can i jailbreak and unlock my phone. pls help me any one. my phone model MA712, 2g iphone 8G, baseband 04.05.04_G. any other way to jailbreak and un;ock my phone?

Plz i wana to understand when i downloaded iPhone Firmware 3.0 for iPhone 2G i didnt found da restore.ipsw i saw alot of file .. if it’s an problem from or internet or i must to make somethin to convert those file …retore.ipsw…

something else jailbreak cant work on ma lap i dont know i have win xp … plz help me :S :’(

so i’m running windows 7, have a 3g iphone. It is not my iphone, my friend kept bugging me to jailbreak/unlock it for him..so here goes:
this iphone made it through one jailbreak prior but cydia ending up failing and since he didn’t have a sim card (he bought phone used) it wouldnt make it passed the “no sim card” phase today.
I ran redsn0w and made it through the process, although it keeps saying it’s done before the phone itself is finished. once i get to the part where the iphone reboots it gets stuck on the apple logo….and sits there, then flashes and repeats the whole apple logo freeze up, rinse repeat.
i’ve gone through the redsn0w process about 10 times now, stuck at the same point everytime……
my biggest concern is that MY itunes has MY iphone 3gs data/backup..i don’t want to link this 3g to it encase it tries to take on MY phone’s attributes-don’t want to destroy MY phone over this entire scenario

how can i fix my situation with the older 3g if i don’t have the actual phone’s old backed up data?
other than that this is an awesome program…

Im a total newbie to anything like this so i hope you dont mind. Ive just been given a iphone 2g running 1.1.4. Its been jailbroken & unlocked in the past by my brother but since he just gave it to me he restored the settings. I have a bunch of app icons now that dont work and i cant get rid of them,including installer which doesnt work either. Basically all i can do is make/receive calls & send/receive texts. Id like to re-jailbreak the phone if i can and install cydia so i can download the apps id like to use. I havent a clue where to start though and what the best option is. Alot of sites ive seen say to update to 3.1.3 but wont that brick my phone,seeing as it was unlocked and jailbroken before?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Hey Guys!

I have an iPhone 1.1.4 (2G)… Jailbreaked it couple of years back but it doesnot have applestore or nor can I downloand any social network apps like FB & Twitter… Now, I want to reformat it and I want appstore and other apps too in it. Can anyone tell me how to do it? Appreciate your help and advice.

hi vinay.

i need your help. i’ve successfully done all the steps you’ve mentioned but apparently, right after it says downloading jailbreak… it went back to where it’s original screen where u see a cable pointing to itunes. what does this mean? how come i’m still unable to use the phone? it only says slide for emergency calls.

my phone actually works perfectly fine before. i performed this unclocking process due to i accidentally updated it’s firmware to the latest version in itunes and unluckily, it ended up being on this screen (emergency calls only). would appreciate your immediate reply. thank you.

Hi Vinay-

I have a big problem that alot of people seem to have- no wifi connection. It doesn’t just happen with redsn0w, i’ve tried pwngetool as well.
is this the phone or the program? wifi has worked fine before.
PLEASE help with this problem, i can’t find ANY answers!!!

Just a followup to my previous post, Now there are none of my photos/contacts . I had previously taken a backup in itunes while on the older 1.1.4 version. Is it safe to do restore using my backup in itunes 8.2 as now i’m running the jailbroken unlocked 3.0 version? I some how made this work and too scared to take a risk of trying to restore from backup and spoiling something which is now properly upgraded. Is it safe to do that?

It gave me a scare initially when it got stuck with the apple logo after successfully jailbreaking and installing the BootNeuter etc. Phone was recognizable in itunes though, but it just would not come out of the apple logo. So removed the usb cable. Kept on pressing the home button and then inserted back the usb cable. After a few seconds the phone switched to recovery mode. Then again i restored the 3.0 firmware and ran the exe. This time i selected both Unlock and Cydia.(first time i had selected only Unlock). Then after all the steps, it seemed to again get stuck with the apple icon, so as mentioned in one of the post above, i quickly removed the usb and plugged it back again and everything came up well. I was successfully able to JB/UL my 1.1.4 iphone ( previously JB/UL using Ziphone ) to 3.0 version. Thanks a lot.
