I have a 2G Iphone v2.2 I would like to safely upgrade to v3.0 but i am a bit unclear about what a unofficial carrier is. do you ,ean the carrier the Iphone was sold from? I bought mine already unlocked in the states and brought it to israel. it works fine. so if I upgrade on the apple site to v3.0 will everything be o.k?

tapon

itunes 8.2 changed the way it puts apps on the iphone, so if the apps they were not purchase it probably won't work and I also notice some of the free apps I downloaded from the store dont work either I think the developers have to update programs to work with the new 3.0 firmware

Diego

you didnt unlock and iphone properly, thats why you have that message.
I think you'll have to start over again go back to itunes 8.0 restore back to 2.0.2 and do the process again
