Okay ppl if you are running vista the above windows adjustment wont exactly work. This is because you have two Program Files. Program Files and Program Files (x86). Are you catching my drift? Make that minor change when typing it up in the cmd interface. Such as "cd "c:Program Files (x86)\iTunes" then proceed with the rest of the instructions. Hope you enjoy my tidbit take care.

To answer my last post, entering the correct line, did not fix my computer. I now get the Blue Screen of Death anytime I plug in my iPhone 3G S.

I tried to uninstall iTunes, Bonjour, Apple Mobile Devices and did a Registry clean with no luck. Any suggestions on fixing the fact I entered SetPreflent instead of SetPrefInt?

I am getting error: STOP: 0X0000007E (0XC0000005, 0X00000000, 0XF7C3E7BC, 0XF7C3E4B8) Dump physical memory complete.

I figured out what I screwed up. I typed a lower case L (l) instead of an upper case i (I) in the setPrefInt part.

I also used 'command' which would not allow cut&paste.

I tried again with 'cmd', cut&paste and it ran quickly.

Should this have fixed my problem permantly (overwritten screw up)?

Thanks,

John, if you hit shift + check for updates you have a choice when it brings up the windows explorer window to either look for ipsw files or ipcc files. make sure you have ipcc selected or you will not see it in windows explorer.
