It works fine but after the update itunes crash at start.
I managed to get this kit to work, but I had a couple issues that needed to be fixed afterward. Opening .dmg files would cause a kernel panic, so the seatbelt fix needed to be reapplied.
Anyway, I’ll go through what I did to get the upgrade to work.
The first time I installed using the kit, I just restarted when it said it was done, but my PC just went into a constant reboot cycle like it has for all upgrades I’ve tried. The 2nd time, I opened the iDeneb.Tool.rev1.mpkg after installing the upgrade but before rebooting. The instructions say to install it after you do the upgrade and reboot, but that was my problem the first time I tried the kit. So this time I ran that file and applied a bunch of things and THEN rebooted.
I wasn’t able to boot normally at first. It would just go into the same reboot cycle as before, until I booted with -x -v.
I was able to get into safe mode which was a major step forward.
Now, before I did all of this, I made sure I backed up all of my extension in /System/Library/Extensions. When I got into safe mode, I just copied all of them back. When I restarted, I was able to get into OS X normally, but I needed to re-apply that seatbelt fix so I could open dmg files again! So what I did for that was download the iPC 10.5.6 version of OSx86 and went into the system folder, then packages, and finally into OSx86Patches. Once in there I located the seatbelt.kext file and double clicked on it. After a reboot, my system was back up and running the way it was before I did the upgrade. I did actually have to reinstall my audio, but that was easy seeing as I already had the drivers backed up.
If you have questions, email me at hackosx86@gmail.com. I will do my best to answer what I can.

I have tried this but cannot get it to work. I am using the vanilla kernel and am updating from Kalyway 10.5.2 to 10.5.7. I run the installer and all seems to go well…before i update i checked the “about this mac” app and it said i was updated to 10.5.7 but when i restart i get stuck on the gray apple loading screen…Any help is appreciated thanx.
P.S. I’m gonna try it on ideneb asap but i think im missing a step in updating the os…thanx again
How do I set a default kernel? It says “You can setup the kernel voodoo or AnV kernel like kernel by default using the voices under the menu kernel.” but I’m not sure how to do it or where is this option located. thank you.
woww.. works great direct update from iATKOS 10.5.5 ..only need to install Disabler.kext for smoother the lag for Nvidia vga..
Thanks..
can i use this for my psystar MAC ????????
@ Jo Psystar doesn’t requires any trick to bypass update procedure according to their site.
I can’t get my update to 10.5.7 to work!
I tried Viking’s way of install the update, but when i try boot after install it came up with ‘Extension “com.apple.driver.iTunesPhoneDriver” has no explicit kernel dependency: using version 6.0′
So I tried using -x -v (which is safemode, right?) on boot and it just stopped at ‘jnl: unknown-dev: journal replay done.’
Please help me out here!
I also am not sure what things to install when I use the Upgrade Toolkit!?
Ok I tried to install both of the kernels using the upgradetool kit and the Usb family kext (cant remember the proper name) and ‘remove kernel’ and it did the same thing, except this time when i started in safe mode, it got past the jnl: unknown-dev….. and came up with “HFS: Removed 1 orphaned unlinked files or directories and stopped there!?
Please help me!!!

Hi, I installed iDeneb_v1.6_1058_Lite_Edition on a new partition, it boots ok but no network or sound. I searched for a driver, download it but it didn’t work. what else I can do.
Hi there, i was trying to follow vikings instructions, so applied combo upadate and iDeneb.Tool.rev1 afterwards, but after first reboot i cant get osx to start. If i load w parameter -v to see debug i get error that its not possible to load PCGenUSBEHCI.kext
Anyone had to go trough this? I dont even know how to get to my extensions directory from boot cd terminal, not skilled enough
I was updating from kalyway 10.5.3combo to 10.5.7 ideneb combo
thanks for any help
I installed the 10.5.7 combo upgrade, and it seemed to go off without a hitch. However, I can no longer scroll or drag windows without it messing up the window contents. If I drag, it appears that the window itself moves, but the contents do not move with it. If I scroll a window (Safari, for example), the contents don’t scroll. If I resize or minimize/restore the window, the contents show correctly. However, those are the only two methods that I have found that fix the contents.
This happens with ALL windows – Finder file lists, websites in Safari, etc.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
Hello,
i have tried to install the ideneb macosx 10.5.7 on my HP Laptop EliteBook 8530p. the OS was installed. after the installation was completed, i did not be able to logon, it hungup at startup. i tried to install it also on VMWare workstation 7 it did not work either.
y conclusion, iDeneb Mac OX on intel does not work at all and it is a waste of time, so i bought an imac.
Regards.
Omar.
