For those who still in 02.30.03 :
Fuzzyband (can be downloaded using Cydia) upgraded my iphone 3g into baseband 04.26.08. You need to tap Fuzzyband after installed & it will ask whether you wish to upgrade your baseband firmware.
Next step is to install Ultrasn0w, you may refer to other article on iHackintosh on how to unlock using ultrasn0w.
And voila …. it was unlocked.

[i have iphone 3g 8gb 2.2.1 with 2.30.03 baseband i dont have wifi enabled at my place(no wifi service provider in my area).is there any substitute for yellowsn0w.please help .my iphone is working like an ipod from past 2 months.]

how big is the cydia partition ? in the custom firmware ?

Worked for me but not in DFU mode. Just out the iphone in restore mode (connect to PC with home button pressed till you see the itunes logo). In DFu I got a 1601 error…

i keep getting error 1600 i read somewhere that using itunes 8.0.2 solves it and it worked fine for my 3g 8gb but now i have a white 16gb and it wont work. i know im putting the phone into dfu mode correctly and ive upgraded from 2.0.2 to 2.2 with no problems and jailbroken and unlocked fine but when i try and do this upgrade i get the same error. can someone please help….im running windows vista 32bit itunes 8.0.2 and white 3g 16gb

Guide worked just like it was supposed to. I had iPhone3G 2.2 (02.28.00) baseband. Downloaded custom firmware and followed the instructions. Used Windows Vista. I am now using firmware 2.2.1. Thanks.

When I touch cydia after using pwnage it says that it’s reorganizing and when it finishes, cydia and installer are missing from my homw screen? Any reason why it’s doing this?
