iPhone Dev-Team Releases RedSn0w Jailbreak for 2G iPod Touch.
The redsn0w beta is available for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux systems. If you are not comfirtable with Command line should wait until a GUI tool – which is more straightforward, and has less chance of novice users accidentally bricking their touch. However, dev team also say they’re working on an un-tethered Jailbreak, which will hopefully be both much easier to use, and enjoy some level of support. Remember it’s a beta release not a final release. They are providing it with expert-only instructions, and a strict warning that they won’t be providing ANY support for it. No wonder if any russian hacker will release a gui based on dev team work before the official dev team release. Official Announcement from dev team as follows.

Today at exactly 2 minutes past Beta O’Clock we are releasing a beta version of redsn0w. The release hopes to simplify the jailbreaking of your iPod touch 2G.
redsn0w is currently in beta as it relies on the user running it from the command line, but this new redsn0w functionality is being added into our GUI applications.
If you are not fully confident with using the command line, then hold off for those simpler tools that will be released sometime soon.
