iPhone 3.0 Beta 4 and iTunes 8.2 Download Available to Developers.

29 April 2009 by Vinay 6 Comments

Apple seeded iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 4 to developers. Developers must install the iTunes 8.2 pre-release before attempting to install iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 4. Peoples who purchased a UDID from a developer hold your horses for a while because many forums reporting that update gives them error 3014 “not a registered developer” error. Some registerd developers also reported Pink Screen while installing iPhone OS 3.0 beta 4. Developers named it Pink Screen of Death A.K.A. PSOD, the PSOD is temporary and/or goes away after a reboot. The latest seed also indicates that the Mac OS X 10.5.7 update is just around the corner. Dave twitted “ You can’t sync notes with iTunes on Beta 4 without OS X 10.5.7 which isn’t out yet but obviously is waiting to drop any moment now…” Syncing Notes in iTunes 8.2 requires 10.5.7 indicates that the major update can be available very soon. Dave also twitted that iTunes 8.2 supports multiple account support means apps from multiple accounts can be used on same device.

I downloaded 3.0 beta 4 as a rar file from a torrent (limewire). I don’t have the site I got it from. I found it through Google. It came divided in 3 files. I had installed iTunes 8.2 earlier. I connected my 2g iPhone with my T-Mobile Sim card too iTunes and did shift+upgrade and started the upgrade (not restore). ITunes went out twice too verify the software with Apple (I am not a developer and have no account). After the second time I turned off my connection (I have no clue if it made any difference) and waited for the installation to finish. Then I activated the phone through QuickPwn3.0. It worked like a charm and still does. Then I did the same thing with my wife’s phone, and did not even have to do the QuickPwn activation with her phone. Have no idea why not. Both phones where unlocked from before.
