I just gave my daughter a G4 iBook that has OS X 10.5.7 and the
latest version of Apple’s mail. She has it set up to do mail via
her comcast.net address ….. that is her ISP. She really does not
use the @comcast.net address. She uses her hotmail address and
I think she may have the premium version as she has extra
storage. How can she setup up her Apple Mail to use her hotmail
account. I have heard there are problems using plugins.

    Any help will be appreciated

Hey mate doing my best to follow your instructions but for some reason it keeps saying the the password I’m typing in to access my mail through hotmail via apple mail is not right.

  • David said:

Doesn’t work for me on a MacBook Air with latest version of Snow Leopard – same problem as many of the other guys. Sets up the mailbox fine but keeps asking for the password – which I know is typed in correctly. Bizarre thing is – every so often it WILL download 5 or 6 mails – its intermittent… AAAAARRRRGGGHHH!!

  • Matthew said:

Mail worked really well with hotmail until 6th June when it stopped downloading new messages, although it continued working well with Gmail and a couple of times it hasn’t sent messages even though they were in the sent messages folder. this program for me is a waste of time and luckily I’m running windows 7 in parallel were I don’t get these problems with outlook.

I just asked my Mac Mail to “get new mail” from my hotmail account.
I really still use the hotmail account and have been playing around with the Mac Mail feature (it’s a new macbook)
It was in sync for a while and then all of a sudden today when I said “get new mail” all the email in my hotmail account disappeared. Please tell me there is a way to get it back into hotmail??

    Thanks a lot guys :-)
