Go to C:\Windows\System32\erivres\etc

Open file hosts, and add this line

127.0.0.1 insider.msg.yahoo.com

OK, the ads will not sown.

Rats!, did not work for me either using YIM 9.0.0.2162.

Did not work for me either.
I am using the latest messenger. Most likely yahoo found this fix and made it where it won’t work. Hopefully someone will find another way soon.

It did not work for me on Yahoo Messenger 9.0.0.2128.
I still got those annoying ads.
