Windows 7 build 7061 is the Possible RC Release?

Chakkaradeep Chandran  Neowin Staff News Writer revealed that Microsoft shipped Windows 7 Build 7061 to Close Partners and group of selected testers.The Latest Build Contains string ie:8.00.6001.18702 (longhorn_ie8_rtm (wmbla) .090308-0339) . According to Chandran The most recent build compiled is build 7061 on March 11, 2009. Build 7057 was the wild search on major torrent sites last week. Internal RC-escrow builds of Windows 7 & Windows Server 2008 R2 will be delivered to select testers on the fourth week of April 2009. Release candidate for Windows 7 & for Windows Server 2008 R2 will be released to the public during the last week of May 2009. We are expecting that the Windows 7 build 7061 will hit Bit-Torrent and Rapidshare very soon. We can say that it’s time to forget build 7057 and hold your horses for next leak possibly build 7061. At the moment we can’t say that 7061 will be the next RC release because Microsoft is working at GOD speed for Windows 7 and they are producing 2 or 3 builds every month.  

 

Microsoft is planning to release Escrow build of Windows 7  to select testers on the fourth week of April 2009. An Escrow Build is a build where development halts and developers & beta testers start testing the product for any show-stopper bugs. Microsoft always emphasizes this to testers to concentrate only on the regressions and confirmation of fixes when asking for feedback on escrow builds. Roadmap of Office 14 is also revealed as per latest news “ First beta of Office 14 will be released in early July and will not be available for public testing. Second beta version of Office 14 will be released in early November. Final RTM release of Office 14 is scheduled in early March 2010.
