Last time we talked about Windows 7 RC1 build 7048 which was rumored to be released a group of Beta Tester. Win7info a dedicated Windows 7 blog reveals that the actual build was 7041 not 7048. According to  Geeksmack : ”  When we said that build 7048.winmain_win7rc1.090211-1625 was compiled, we meant build7041.winmain.090211-xxxx. We are unsure of the exact time that the build was compiled, but it was compiled on February 11th, and, according to the build tag, this isn’t in the RC branch of builds. “

Paul Writes “  Recently we’ve seen people talk about “RC Builds” and the like. First, all builds since the beta are RC builds since by definition that is the next milestone. But by far the most humorous element has been that the build numbers blogged about are higher than our current build. Today’s build is 7046, but it hasn’t completed yet “

Microsoft have only officially released one build (7000) which went to beta testers and the public alike.Beta testers (and the public) will likely see RC1 released as soon as February 27. One thing is cleared that build 7048 hasn’t any existence.
