@ Miker: I have successfully installed retail Leopard 10.5.6 system onto my Asus P5K mobo. I used “boot132″ method. It works just fine. Even Audio (ALC883, Stereo output and Mic) and Gigabit Ethernet (AttansicL1).

This is boot132 iso image for this board. ~17Mb. Enjoy!

@ AF:Try different videocard. Even simple old PCI one might help.Switch off all the periferal in BIOS. Use SATA HDD and DVD.

    To Mike

Here you can download boot132.iso for ASUS P5K mobo and some useful utilities, also pinconfig text file for HDA patcher – for full working on-board ALC883 sound.

I’ve tried them all…distro’s that is…until I used “cpus=1″ at the initial boot prompt…I got nowhere. None of the other ‘switches’ or kludges worked…the iPC version 10.5.6 was best for my setup:

    Dual Core Pentium
    1 IDE HD
    1 SATA HD
    1 IDE DVD
In bios, Sata to follow Pata, however, chose Sata drive to follow DVD in boot order. My Windoze version is installed on the Sata drive, then I installed easy BCD.

Next try to boot into your Mac 10+ DVD with the cpus=1 switch (no quotes needed). I tried the -s, -x, -f, -d, however I received NO kernel panics once I used the cpus=1 switch.

Remember if you’re running Win Vista/7 and you mess your MBR up…start up windows install DVD, get to a terminal and type “bootrec /fixboot”…at least you won’t have to reinstall.

    Hope this helps/encourages someone.
