Mary Jo Foley from Zdnet blogs about the possible roadmap of Windows Mobile 7.Features of Win Mobile 7 are still a mystery. But it is rumored there have been a few tidbits about some of the gesture recognition and multi-touch capabilities in the works for future WinMobile platforms, Microsoft hasn’t yet even officially announced Windows Mobile 6.5, but this OS update is most likely be announced at Mobile World Congress in next two weeks.Lets take a quick look at the most possible Windows mobile version 7 roadmap.

- Windows Mobile 6.5 RTM (release to manufacturing): April 2009
- First Windows Mobile 6.5 devices from cell phone makers: September 2009
- Windows Mobile 7.0 release to testers: November 2009
- First Windows Mobile 7.0 devices from cell phone makers: April 2010
About Windows Mobile 7 : ” Codenamed “Photon”, Windows Mobile 7 is a major upgrade and rumored for release in 2010. Not much else is known about the release, though leaked information suggests a revamped UI, multi-touch and motion-related features.Companies such as MWg and HTC are expected to release Windows Mobile Professional devices supporting this version.Features include redesigned interface, new Office Mobile version, next Internet Explorer Mobile, accelerometer functionality with interface (gestures), new media player version.Microsoft has somewhat confirmed the leaks, showing the homescreen during a commercial of their Live Mesh software operating on what appears to be an HTC Touch Dual.The homescreen resembles that of version 6.1, and possibly 6.5. Microsoft also plans on bringing some form of Zune functionality or software to this version “
