All those prior GUIs weren’t commercial, i.e. free with hardware purchase. Micro$oft’s was the first commercially released GUI.

According to Wikipedia, the Xerox 8010 Star Information System introduced the GUI in 1981. The Apple Lisa in 1983 and the Apple MacIntosh in 1984 also sported a GUI. In 1985, the Atari ST and the Commodore Amiga each had a GUI which pre-dated Windows 1.0.

Windows 7 is not an incremental update. It is a new operating system, with some elements similar to Vista. How many times will people get this wrong? I remember the good ‘ol days of 3.11. And the switch to win 95? My world went upside down. I can’t say that I will miss xp. Win 7 can’t get here soon enough.
