Silverlight-for-Linux-Is-Here-for-Ubuntu-openSUSE-SUSE-Fedora-and-Red-Hat-2 Moonlight is a free and open-source implementation of the Silverlight web application framework which was originally developed by Microsoft. Moonlight is currently being developed by the Mono Project.Moonlight currently tracks the Silverlight 1.0 .NET implementation. The first completed version, Moonlight 1.0, supporting Silverlight 1.0 was released 20 January 2009. Support for Silverlight 2.0 is still a work in progress.hese are currently built without multimedia support. No video or mp3 playback is enabled on these binaries.These are test installers and are not complete or bug free. They are snapshots from our development tree and might not work. Firefox 3 support is known to be buggy, particularly as regards plugin detection from javascript.

  • To provide a Linux SDK to build Silverlight applications.
  • To reuse the Silverlight engine we have built for desktop applications.
