Adobe Released AIR 1.5.1 for Windows , Linux & Mac OS .

The official Adobe AIR Team Blog Announced , the release of version 1.5.1 for their Adobe AIR runtime environment with several bug fixes and improvements.Adobe AIR is a cross-platform runtime environment for building rich Internet applications using Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex, HTML, or Ajax, that can be deployed as a desktop application.As of February 2009, there have been over 100 Million installations of Adobe AIR across the globe.companies using AIR include AOL, NASDAQ, The New York Timesand Yahoo!.Over 180 applications are available on the Adobe AIR marketplace. To run in the AIR environment JavaScript toolkits need changes – because of the security model A number of toolkits have been modified in this way, most notably dojo.

Adobe AIR Engineering Team, explains the importance of Capabilities.cpuArchitecture and InvokeEvent.reason  new featureincluded in Air 1.5.1 “[...] In the login case, applications often want to avoid opening new windows. In all other cases, they generally want to make sure they do open a new window. Starting with AIR 1.5.1, the InvokeEvent class contains a new property, “reason”, that distinguishes between these two cases. It has two possible values: “standard” and “login”. These are, I hope, self-explanatory.”
