Apple has released an update for the iPhone software today.This update contains bug fixes and improvements, including the following: The update is available to all iPhone and iPhone 3G users by plugging the iPhone into your computer and clicking on the Check for Update button in iTunes.

- Public transit and walking directions
- Display address of dropped pins
- Share location via email
- Decrease in call setup failures and dropped calls
- Enhancements to Mail
- Resolved isolated issues with scheduled fetching of email
- Improved formatting of wide HTML email
- Podcasts are now available for download in iTunes application (over Wi-Fi and cellular network)
- Improved stability and performance of Safari
- Improved sound quality of Visual Voicemail messages
- Pressing Home button from any Home screen displays the first Home screen
- Preference to turn on/off auto-correction in Keyboard Settings
Still no copy and paste, MMS or any bonus features this time around by the looks of things.
According to the un-official iPhone Dev Team, who provide unlocking solutions for the iPhone, “WARNING — there are early indications that today’s 3G firmware update (2.2.1_5H11) will break yellowsn0w — do not install it.
